Maverick's pov

Class just finished and as walk out, I'm immediately yanked my the arm by Makayla. "Hey what's your problem?!" Shoot I said too loudly. Pretty sure someone heard us. "Nothing, I just really need to talk to you." "Can it wait?" We're leaned on the walls of the school's hallways. Not as hot as you may think. "No, I really need to say it now." "Oh great then make it quick and please whisper, people are hearing us." "That's good cause they might think we are breaking up!" I instantly panic at what she just said. "No,no Makayla, don't do that. We have to continue making people believe we're dating. I don't want anyone to suspect we are you know.." "But Maverick...I've been trying to talk to Emery but she ignores me. How can I make her love me if she thinks I'm dating you? Then She won't believe me when I tell her I like girls." "But Makayla you have to understand that we have to keep it secret. I'm now friends with Charlie even trough I wish we could be more and you can hang out with Emery in return." "No! You don't get it do you? I want to be free, free! I want to talk to Emery any time without judgement cause apparently she is bi so I really want to have a chance with her." "I know you really want that but I think you seriously forgot who we are, I'm the basketball captain and your the number one girl every boys dream to have, we can't just suddenly live freely without being judged or look down upon." "You caught me...you've got a point but still don't you want to at least be able to date your man." I blush at that." Hey he's not my man." "Yeah, yeah as a if he's not. Seriously you haven't seen how he looks at you." I remain silent cause I know we can't talk about this in the hallways. I swear someone heard us. "I mean yeah sometimes I wish I could have something with him but still I'm not ready to come out." "Then you don't have to, we tell people that we broke up, besides I'm pretty sure people are suspecting that we broke up." "Are you nuts?! What will our parents say and Tomas?!" Apparently she does one night stand and still to this day she basically still doesn't talk to me. Every time she sees me it seems like she is pissed at me. What did I do for her to do that?" "Fine we'll tell people we broke up but I don't want to hear anyone saying we're gay and whatnot. This doesn't mean I'm announcing to the whole school I'm gay, I'll eventually tell only Charlie." "Mm okay. Not fun but I'll accept it. It's not like I can come out too. I wish I could but with half the school homophobic and whatnot, I don't think it's good idea. Like I said our sexuality should remain almost private. Only the ones we may have crushes on may know our sexuality alright?" Why she's taking like we don't even have anyone we don't like to begin with? "Yeah I prefer way better that offer." "Sens I'll help you continue being in the closet and so ate you, as compromise, I want you to present Charlie to me." I blush and look away embarrassed. Look everyone still looking at us cause we've been talking for the last 5 minutes and break is soon to be over." "Yeah I get it Mav, your sacred that they'll hear us." She talks in mocking voice but she seems to be only teasing me." "Yeah, yeah I'm sure your scared too that they might hear that the little perfect girl likes the school soccer captain." Now it was my turn to tease her." "Hey turn it down they might hear us." "See told ya." "Pff stop it already, I'll still cheer for you in your games, just that I won't kiss you anymore." "Yeah" I look down and then look at her again. "Ok then can I go now?" "Yeah you may see your man." I blush at her comment. "Hey he's not my man!" "Just kidding." We both laugh and then we go both our ways. She probably went with her friends like usual even trough I still think they aren't good for her and I went to go see Charlie and his friend Kilan.
