Scandalized
Duration: 2 episodesEmery's pov
Another day, another game. I'm already busy doing my usual routine to head to soccer practice. So far, I sound a lot like a stereotypical girl, well I'm not. I'm Emery Blackwell, number 11 in the Ol Reigns in the NWSL. Yeah, that's the highest level of pro soccer you can play as a woman. Not only that I'm one of the youngest player in the league and also a striker at that. Soccer has always been my life.
When I was in my teens years I was the number one star of my school and I won their first championships. I'll never forget those days.
While being known internationally as a soccer player is hard, I'm proud of how far I've come so far. Not many women actually get that far and even less so from people of my hometown, actually I'm the first one to do so. I love soccer with all my might.
I don't even want to begin to imagine what my life would look like if I didn't do soccer professionally.
While I'm one of the women with the most privileges in the world, I wouldn't say I have full avantages. On a career point everything is going very well but it's something else when it comes to my personal life.
You see I'm not straight like all the other girls out there. I'm bisexual, I've been dating my high school sweetheart Makayla Shewell for 6 years now.
It's true she's known worldwide too but it's not because of me. She does modeling and yeah she's a gym trainer too, a hot one at that.
Sometimes she gives me lessons in secret. I already have my personal gym trainer in the league but deep down I wish it would be her. Deep down I think she enjoys being a gym trainer more than being a model.
She's modeling because of the pressure her family is making her go trough. When I met her she was a cheerleader, one that cheered for me but I learned she didn't even liked doing it.
What makes things harder is that we haven't been out to the public yet. I know for a fact that I'm not really allowed to come out to the public because of my professional career and she can't because of her family.
Her family is homophobic, like they really are. They what we can call attention seekers. They just want attention, so I'm surprised they let Makayla live in Oregon with me.
Well they don't know it's because of me but still it's a blessing. We don't live together for a courtesy of not having the media on our backs. It's hard those days to meet with each other. There's crazy paparazzi everywhere. Those days I'm always stoped by some people asking for signatures or to ask me questions. The life as a soccer star, can't say more.
It's great that nobody has yet to really ask me about my love life. I would hate for the media outlets to do that. I can't have my career ruined because of that. As I'm getting ready to leave, I get a very disturbed call from our team manager.
Emery: Yes? How are you mister Peters?
Mr Peters: You have to check the news now!
Emery: Why! What's wrong? Some people are throwing rumors about our team?
Mr Peters: No! It's about you! It's all over the media, check it out now!I go on my social media and sure enough there's posts everywhere about some pictures of me not only smoking but kissing Makayla! How did they get a hang of that?!
Emery: Omg! How the f**k did someone get those pictures?
Mr Peters: Look, Emery, confirm me wether those pictures are true or not.I feel conflicted about what to answer the man. Sh*t how did that go out the media?! F**k..my reputation is over..
