Chapter 4: Competition and Babylon Rogues

Ever since the meeting at Sonic's and Tails' house, the team went to look for Chaos Emeralds as a team with Y/N tagging along. When they arrived in Metal City, Y/N was in awe ever since she stepped foot in the city. It was like the future of humanity!

Knuckles was amused and found it quite funny how Y/N was lost since she had no words. He was happy to take her along on this big adventure to search all of the missing Chaos Emeralds.

The group continued to walk, looking around to see if there was any signal of a Chaos Emerald nearby, but Tails had the special gadget for it. "I think the signal's coming from around here..." The fox said as he stopped in front of the board news with others. There was no word to let Tails concentrate more, which he was secretly thankful for. The yellow fox was confused as he realized something. "That's really weird. It looks like something's jamming the radar signal!"

That's when the moment was broken when the heroes heard a noise like the glass being shattered. What was that? They all turned towards the noise where it came from and it was from the building! There were three shadowy figures out. The first one was a green hawk, who looked like to be a leader of some sort. He was like Sonic himself, except being someone who wants treasures. The second figure that came out was a buffy one. Y/N was surprised by that. He was a grey albatross, which explained why probably by the size. Y/N became slightly worried. He was like Knuckles since her red echidna boyfriend was also buff. Were they really going to fight? And the final figure was a purple swallow, a spoiled and cruel one at that. Y/N scowled at herself since she had not a good feeling about the birds. Who were they? What were they doing here? Did they steal something? Why did they escape through the window?

"There! What's that?!" Knuckles pointed at the figures, becoming alerted like the others.

"More like 'Who are they?'" Y/N corrected her echidna boyfriend but knew that was not important right now.

Tails then got a beeping noise from the gadget and that's when he panicked and full alarming. "Sonic! The Emerald is over there!" He pointed out.

Y/N's eyes went wide. "They got the Chaos Emerald!"

The birds had the Chaos Emerald! But what for? That was the question that Y/N tried to answer herself quietly. They NEEDED to get the Emerald back... and better quickly because the birds were on their hoverboards, escaping.

"All right! Now we're talking!" Sonic responded, liking to get into action and that's what he exactly did. The blue hedgehog jumped off to try and get the Emerald back.

Tails saw how his best friend went off and he quickly flew. Knuckles and Y/N looked at each other before nodding. It was time. Knuckles quickly picked up Y/N bridal style and quickly went after their friends. He was careful to not get his girlfriend hurt.

Meanwhile, the green hawk was now trying to escape from the police officers that were riding after him. Instead of your political chase with the famous police cars, they were this time like from the future. It was, after all, Metal City. The blue hedgehog, aka Sonic, finally landed in front of the upcoming green hawk. He had his fists out, ready to fight. But the hawk was like he doesn't give a fuck that he flew past the hedgehog easily. But what Sonic didn't know was that there was an upcoming albatross.

Y/N quickly jumped off of Knuckles' arms as they arrived but also because Knuckles was just in time that he quickly punched the grey albatross off of his grey hoverboard, causing him to grunt and the hoverboard to land on the ground. Y/N realized something: it had a mark, a symbol, on it. But what was the meaning behind it? What did it mean? What was it stand for? The human girl wasn't the only one who thought so. Tails arrived and noticed the mark as well.

Knuckles watched how the grey albatross managed to grab into the purple hoverboard that belonged to the (spoiled) purple sparrow. "Shoot!" Knuckles cussed as he watched them fly away.

Y/N, his lovely girlfriend, kissed the muzzle cheek with her lovely lips, causing the red echidna to stiff and blush while looking at her. Y/N smiled. "You did a good job, my echidna." She winked.

Knuckles showed a small smile and grabbed her hand in his gloved one.

"We need to get to Sonic! Quickly!" Tails exclaimed as he flew off.

As Knuckles went off, Y/N grabbed her chance the took the grey hoverboard that belonged once to the grey albatross. She knew that Tails would examine it for sure. When the group arrived, Sonic was on his knees and standing up. It looked like the Chaos Emerald was lost thanks to the birds and perhaps the green hawk and Sonic had a competition.

"Oh, new competition!"
