Chapter 5: Eggman and Wave

Ever since the Chaos Emerald incident, the team didn't forget the moment. They had to get it back somehow. But who were they really? What were their names? You may notice how Y/N's friends were dressed. Since they were males, they had shoes on and even special goggles to protect their eyes from the wind. It was irritating, exactly like when you go swimming underwater, it's so blurry. The females had to wear clothes since they were... girls and also cover their private parts. it was hard to explain. Y/N was also a female so she had clothes on as well. 

Just as the team was passing by, an unexpected guest appeared on the screen and no one saw it coming! The figure was a form of a (fatass) egg, had a funny-looking mustache, and had goggled on his head. 

"Eggman!" The team went immediately quiet since the doctor spoke. Y/N growled quietly, not happy at all to see him. What was he up to now?

"Ladies and gentlemen! Welcome, everyone!" Eggman began to speak. "I hope you're all ready for a show. We've got an exciting event just for you. Ho ho ho ho!" He then let out his famous laugh. 

Shut up, fatass, Y/N thought as the team had angry expressions on their faces. 

"Since you all seem so bored, I've put together a little extra something to spice things up! I call it the 'EX World Grand Pix'! A tournament to see who's the best of the best with Extreme Gear! Not just a race... But a special race, to see who's the fastest. And... These races are no-holds-barred! All contestants pay a simple entry free of one Chaos Emerald, and the winner takes it all!"

Y/N didn't like at all what she heard. So, in order to join the racing, you must pay one a Chaos Emerald? And the winner takes it all? What if someone else won the race instead of Sonic?! She had a bad feeling about this... 

"So, let's see who among you dares to meet this challenge!" That's when the screen disappeared.

"Eggman again! Just what is he up to this time?" Sonic asked.

"Something not good for sure..." Y/N responded, feeling uneasy. Knuckles took a notice of it and grabbed her hand in his.

The screen went back on again, revealing Eggman. "And, there's more! Before I forget, I'll present the current contestants. These players, they're hot, the best racers I could find!" He finally showed who would be joining also in the race. The first one was the exact same grey albatross again since the Chaos Emerald incident! Y/N took her time fast to read the information on the board. The first one was the exact same grey albatross that Knuckles attacked! Apparently, his name was Storm. There was even information that was all about him. Y/N felt that Knuckles wasn't happy at all when he saw Storm. The next figure was the same purple swallow named Wave. Wasn't she like a smart (spoiled) bitch? Tails were better than her! And finally, the last figure was the same green hawk that took Sonic by surprise. His name was Jet and he was the leader. Their team was called Babylon Rogues. No way... They were about to join the race?! 

Sonic's green eyes went wide in shock and disbelief when he saw Jet. "Hey, that's!" Of course, he would compete against the jerk bird. He got Sonic last time, but the blue hedgehog would make sure to get the hawk back this time. "The EX World Grand Prix, huh? Let's do this!"

Y/N quickly put her hand on Sonic's shoulder, causing him to look at her. "Sonic, please don't forget that Eggman is up to something, alright? We must find out."

Sonic gave her a smile, assuring her that he would not forget it. He gave her hand a pat and Knuckles didn't seem to mind. He trusted Sonic and Tails with his whole heart. "Don't worry, N/N. We got this!"

Later~

After the race at Metal City, the group went to Splash Canyon, a beautiful place full of nature, including a waterfall. Sonic went to compete against the robots that also joined the race, probably ordered by Eggman himself. The team was overjoyed when Sonic won the race! He definitely did a good job! As the team won the first race, they all decided to go to Splash Canyon, not knowing at all that Wave would be there...
