You were still slightly panting when Namjoon picked up the phone. But after convincing him that you were ok he explained the reason for his earlier call. It wasn't about what you hoped it would be, but instead just to let you know that he had decided to represent a suspect you had built a case against recently. Your disappointment was audible as you said goodbye hastily, nevertheless just before hanging up he surprised you by inviting you on a "date". A weekend day date no less, something you had never been on, but it wouldn't hurt to try. Even when you explicitly say you would like to see him tonight ASAP, he explains he already has plans and would rather see you the next Sunday, to which you agree reluctantly. What is it with men and their plans? Although understandable, you reason, when they're that hot.

You go home that night frustrated and confused. Why is Jungkook so upset about you seeing Namjoon? why does Namjoon act all gentlemanly and boyfriend-like all of a sudden but then doesn't call for days and avoids your invitations? Why is it so hard to get fucked when you want to get fucked?!
(...)

The next morning you wake up horny as hell and the prospect of meeting with your partner to talk about the case seems like the last thing you need. There's still two whole days before Sunday and apparently Jungkook is dead set on not taking care of you anymore.
You brave on and decide to pretend like nothing happened, successfully putting yourself on autopilot as you brief your partner about all your suspicions, which he seems skeptical about but at least remains mostly receptive, which is a big relief. Luckily enough he had also came across a connection between the two victims other than the one you had found, and it had come from a sketchy list very well concealed deep in the dark web regarding some weird cult. You were actually surprised that Jungkook had found something so elusive on such a short amount of time, so you thanked him professionally for his good job.
He made some weird imperceptible grimace with his mouth that almost morphed into a smile and then opened it to say something, but it seems like midway through he changed his mind because the shape of his lips changed. Then he thanked you back coldly, but you could swear your words might have impacted him more than he let on.
In that precise moment a new uniformed officer came in with so many stripes on his upper sleeve that it allowed you to conclude he could only be the new Chief of police that everyone was talking about. Tall, surprisingly young and so handsome you have to take a minute of silence to fully grasp an understanding of it.
-Hello everyone, my name is Kim Seokjin, the new Chief... I have already introduced myself to most of you but if you have any questions I would love to hear them...
Some of your coworkers start all kinds of conversations, which the Chief entertains gladly. Charming, polite, kind, and funny even... What the hell was this supermodel Prince Charming doing here? But then again Jungkook was easily the hottest man you'd ever seen and he was also a cop. And even if Namjoon had chosen a more luxurious lifestyle he was still way too hot to be just a criminal lawyer... What are the odds of all these incredibly attractive men being so tightly connected? And, judging by his stares piercing through you, the first one had another thing in common with the other two.
Normally you would have ignored it, but given your current state, you decide to stare back... Endulge in the scenery of Kim Seokjin, playing with his plump bottom lip and beckoning you to introduce yourself. He walks over to you and extends a hand to shake yours and invites you in his office, to which you oblige completely ignoring Jungkook's reaction.
-I'm told you're our best detective...- he starts the conversation once he pulls out a chair on his desk for you to sit on, followed by himself sitting across from you.
-Thank you...- you respond politely.
-And don't worry about those issues you had in the past, I just wanted to tell you personally that if there's anything you need I'm here... I'm not a strict boss like that old geezer... and I didn't get to where I am by blindly following rules...
-I appreciate it Sir...- you respond enthusiastically. It was so refreshing to hear something like that these days. You could see why he was so popular in the force, apart from his striking looks.
-You can call me Jin...- he replies warmly with a gracious wink of his right eye that makes him look rather galant like a movie star -... now tell me a bit about yourself, I intend to make you one of my favorites...
You lightly chortle at his joke, hoping that your cheeks haven't told on you.
-Well I'm not very social... I'm somewhat of a workaholic... not very interesting...
-It's ok, maybe we'll change that... I do plan on inviting you on as many work parties as possible...- he finishes by getting up and stretching your hand which you take as a sign that the conversation is sadly over.
-It was great to talk to you Jin...
-Likewise, now go back I don't want to make your boyfriend jealous... he's been glancing over here nonstop...
You look back mechanically to understand what he means and he points to Jungkook across the glass wall with his chin. Which now seems to be going through some random folder  while resting his body against his desk.
-Oh, no... he's just my partner... I'm very single...- you hope that the emphasis on the last word you made doesn't come off as desperate, specially given that you haven't let go of his hand yet, but he certainly doesn't seem to mind much.
You say your goodbyes regardless and exit his office with his handsome smile still on your mind and something tells you that his stare is still with you as you walk away. Jungkook on the other hand is pretending to be immersed in his reading but now you suspect what his problem may be. He is simply jealous... Maybe you're reading too much into this, given how deprived you've been lately; but why else would he be staring so much at the two of you while you were having your conversation?
