A few minutes later, Hope sat with Niklaus, her uncle Elijah, and her aunt Freya at a table and enjoyed a few beignets. She really loved them. They were so delicious and definitely her favorite.
Hope smiled. She was happy. The family, including herself, was safe now.

Thanks to her other uncle Kol and his wife Davina, the Hollows magic was safe in some dark object now. They had taken the magic out of Hope and put it into the object.
She looked to her father. He seemed happy too, which made her even happier.
She was glad that they had found a solution for the Hollows magic problem. Otherwise, her Dad would have been dead right now. Klaus had been willing to take the dark magic from Hope so that she would have survived.
Well, Hope was just happy that everything had a good ending and that her father still lived.

"So. Did I understand you right, Niklaus? Do you want to go to Mystic Falls with your daughter? And now you're asking me whether I would come with you?"

Elijah chuckled.
"Have you lost your mind?"
Klaus roled his eyes, turned back in his seat, and seemed displeased.

"Hope needs to learn how to control her magic, Elijah."

Before the Hybrid could go on talking, Freya cleared her throat.
It's probably to show that she was also still here. Hope looked at her for a few seconds. Her father and her uncle too.
Then Niklaus continued.

"She needs to be with others in her age."

Elijah took a breath and looked from Klaus to Hope and back.

"If this really is your wish and if Niklaus thinks there won't be any danger when I come with you," Elijah said.
"Then you'll come with us." Hope finished his sentence and was satisfied when he finally but slowly nodded. "Yes."
She finished her beignets and enjoyed the sweet taste of it.
"It's decided then."

An hour later, Hope packed her thing in a suitcase and a little backpack. She didn't need much. Just her most important thing. Her favorite clothes, a few spell books, and candles for using magic.
When she thought that she packed everything she needed, her eyes found a picture on her dresser. Hope took the framed photo in her hands and looked at it for a long time.

She saw her mother, Hayley, and herself. They both smiled and seemed happy.
Hayley hugged her and had her arms around Hopes hip. Hope remembered the day when they did this picture together. She had been ten years old, and her hair had been red at the time.
Now, Hopes hair was a mixed color from Klauses and Hayleys hair colors.

Suddenly, she became sad and felt a tear, which rolled down her cheek. Hope missed her mum so much. It was her own fault that she died. She tried to blame Elijah for Hayleys death, but in the end, deep down, she knew that she was the reason for it.
How stupid and naive was she?
Hope truly believed that Roman had been interested in her.
But in the end she had let him to her mum.

Hope gently ran her fingers over the picture.
"Please forgive me, mum. I love you."

"Hope? Are you ready we can...."
Hope raised her head and looked into her Dad's face. He stopped talking when he saw in her face. Klaus stood in her door and looked worried as well as startled. Hope quickly wiped the tears from her eyes even though she knew that her father had seen them already.

Klaus came with a little shocked face closer to her.
"What's wrong, sweetheart?"
He put a hand to her cheek and continued talking before she could even answer.
"Hope if you changed your mind and don't want to go, it's okay."
Hope said nothing. She just looked back on the picture in her hands.

Of course, Klaus noticed her gesture and followed her look.
When his eyes saw the photo, he knew what it was that made his daughter sad.
"I miss her," Hope said and felt again how a tear rolled down her cheek. This time, she just let it be.
Klaus took a breath and nodded then slowly.
"I miss her too."
The next moment, Hope cried out.
She just couldn't hold it back any longer.
"It's my fault that she died."

Klaus shook his head quickly.
"Don't you ever think that! If someone is responsible for Hayleys death, it's me."
Hope didn't answer. She wasn't able to say anything. Her throat was dry and felt like it would be constricted.
Klaus took a breath before he said:
"All right. If you have packed everything, we can go."

Hope nodded slowly. She put the picture in her backpack and then threw it over her shoulder. Klaus carried her suitcase and left the room. Hope took one last look back at her room.
I will come back one day, she thought, left the room and closed the door behind her.
