Your POV:

You cried your heart out—the tears showing no sign of stopping. Your soul was crushed. Your mind torn apart. And your heart shredded through a grinder. You close your eyes tightly and beg to wake up.

Suddenly, your wish was granted.

You open your eyes, sitting up, you find yourself in your bedroom.

A dream..?

You question reality and reach out for Lovino, whose back is facing you. Your hand barely grazed him, but you retracted it and climbed out of bed instead.

It was all a horrible nightmare...

You wiped away the sweat pouring down your forehead and the tears streaming down your face. Entering the living room, you sat on the couch and gazed out the window. Unintentionally lying down and fell asleep right there and then. Morning soon arrived, and you woke up to the sensation of someone poking your cheek. You flutter your eyes open and are met with Lovino's hazel ones.

"Morning, ragazza." He smiled softly.

You swiftly stood up.

"Che ci fai dormendo qui? (What are you doing sleeping here?) If you were a sleepwalker, I think I would've noticed by now."

You chuckled nervously as words from your nightmare soon destroyed what little joy Lovino had created within a few seconds.

"At least that person has given me something you have failed to provide."

"Yeah, morning..." You twiddle your thumbs, gazing down at your hands. "Are you heading off to work?"

"Ragazza, It's my day off today." He replied.

"Oh..."

"So, what are we going to do today?" Lovino asked curiously, waiting for your response.

You had no idea what to say. Hell, you couldn't even look him in the eye. Your gaze landing everywhere except his face. "Well, I don't want to bother you, but I was going to clean various areas around the house today."

"Let me help you then." He offered sweetly.

You shook your head. "No, it's all good! I bet you're tired from work. Allow me," You say quickly, going into the kitchen area.

Lovino folded his arms and followed you. "(Y/n), you should give yourself some time to wake up first and eat something so you can have energy."

You froze. "You're right! I'll make us breakfast!"

He got behind you and grabbed your hand as you were reaching for the cabinets. "It's okay. I can do it."

Your heart beat rapidly under his touch. "On second thought, I'm not that hungry. More than anything, I'm sore. I'm going to run a bath real quick!" You exclaim, scurrying away and shutting yourself in the bathroom.

This nightmare has got me all over the place...

You leaned against the door, sat on the floor, crawled over to the round bathtub, and began filling it with warm water. As you waited, you removed your pajamas and undergarments. After pouring soap in, bubbles rose, and you slowly submerged yourself up to the neck. Letting the stress from the night melt away.

There's no way I can tell him what I dreamt of... I'll have to calm down and try my hardest to be the best version of me I can be for him! Maybe that way...

"(Y/n)?" Lovino knocked on the door. "Can I... come in?"

You gulped down a lump in your throat. "Y-yeah!"

He turned the knob and entered, closing the door behind him. Seeing the bathtub loaded and you hid in the midst. "How are you feeling?" Lovino asked, taking a seat on the edge.

"I'm okay... why?" You question, knowing exactly what he meant.

He raised a brow. "You're acting quite jumpy. Do I dare ask what's wrong? If something is, don't hesitate to tell me." Lovino reached into the water and grabbed your hand, pulling it out. "You're the bold one in the relationship. Seeing you like this is unnatural."

"You're unexpected in the best kinds of ways as usual, Lovi..." You sigh heavily, squeezing his hand as you build up the courage. "Last night, I had a nightmare..."

>>>>>>

When you told him everything, he stayed silent—fighting the urge not to get angry. But not at you, but at himself. "I'm so sorry you had to endure that. If it makes you feel any better, I would totally kick dream me in the balls and tear his curl off."

You burst out laughing at his comment. "Oh, Lovino, you're hilarious!" You wipe a tear away and chuckle.

With a blush on his face, he smiles. "Felice di essere utile. (Glad to be of use.) But in all seriousness, you always do a lot for me, (Y/n). I never want you to feel like you're not enough because you are and you always will be. You're so hard working, that it scares me that one day you'll overwork yourself..." He glances down at the floor. "I may not be good at many things, but I'll try to be helpful in every way possible." Lovino expresses truthfully, his cheeks bright red like two ripe tomatoes.

"Wow, we have a way of bringing ourselves down sometimes, huh?" You grin. "But at the same time, we bring each other up..." Propping yourself on your elbow, you look up at him. "Again, sorry to bother you with my ridiculous dream."

He shook his head. "Don't be. I question life often without a good reason..." He says, leaning in and kissing you. "We'll make things work until the very end." Brushing against your ear and whispers, "And just for the record, you satisfy me in more ways than one..." Lovino trails down and plants kisses on your neck. His lips nibbled on your skin. "Non dimenticarlo mai. (Never forget it.)"

"I won't." You giggle softly as he takes off his shirt, signaling he wants to join you.
