Your POV:

"Matthew, it's beautiful..." You said, setting down your luggage on the couch in the living room. Matthew rented a lovely wooden cabin, right next to Emerald Lake. Away from everyone. Total isolation. Kuma even offered to stay behind, so you and Matthew could spend some alone time together. Despite objections from you both.

"Only the best, for the best." Matthew chuckled nervously. "And I have a bunch of activities planned out already. With your approval, of course."

You suavely make your way towards him with a smirk painted across your face. "What kind of activites~?"  You asked seductively, wrapping your arms around his neck in the process. You jumped slightly as he pulled you closer.

"You'll see..." He replied, giving you the same smirk.

Okay... this is not what I meant, but whatever. It's fun either way!

You thought as you and Matthew held hands together while walking on a trail in the woods nearby. A fantastic view of the lake sat in front of your eyes. The wind blowing gently throughout the land, making the water move at a constant pace. You stopped to admire the scenery.

"You truly have such marvelous places, Matthew." You commented being engulfed in the beauty of the landscape. Matthew smiled and stood beside you, saying,

"Thank you, (Y/n). But the most marvelous sight of all that I have seen is you, maple." He caught you off guard, making you a bit flustered.

"Well... um... I wouldn't say that! I-I mean, thank you..." You gazed at the mountains, trying to hide your embarrassment.

Matthew chuckled softly. "I love the way you react to those things even after two years together and married."

"Yeah... I guess it's pretty pathetic." You replied, turning to face him.

He slightly frowned. "That's not what I meant. C'est irrésistiblement adorable! (It's irresistibly adorable!)" Matthew smiled, his curl bouncing in the wind. Making him look more handsome than he already was.

You sighed heavily. "You're not helping my point..."

After ten minutes of continuing on the trail, you two come across the sight of two chopping axes laying on the ground. You hid behind Matthew.

"I think we came upon a killer's hiding spot." Your words trembling.

"Not at all, maple. I set this up. Are you up for a little contest?" He asked, picking up the axes and offering you one of them. A hint of cockiness glistening in his violet eyes.

"Oh? You're on." You stated, taking the ax from his hand.

"Rules are simple, the one throws it the farthest and lands directly in the center of that said tree, wins."

You nodded with confidence, adjusting yourself, carefully gripping the ax and eyeing down your target. Matthew watched you, enjoying every second of it and followed your lead. He started the countdown.

"1... 2... and 3!" He quietly shouted. You two throwing them at the same time. Yours flying the farthest and failing at impaling anything, while Matthew's flying the short distance but perfectly impaling a tree. You stood there dumbfounded at the outcomes.

"So, who wins?" You asked, scratching the back of your head.

"Both?" He said, uncertain. You two looked at each other and started to laugh. He wiped a tear from his eye. "It's getting late. Let's go back, shall we?"

Once you two made it back and inside the cabin, Matthew pulls you into a warm hug. Brushing against your ear, he whispers,

"Maple, do you want to start our last activity for the night~?"

Your whole body tenses up at his words. The same tone that you spoke to him at the beginning of the day. Even if you teased, you weren't sure he got your hints. You shouldn't have thought so little of him when it came to those things since he did live with Francis.

Who knows what kind of things he said to my poor boy...

You straightened up and whispered back,

"Yes, it'd be my pleasure..."
