Your POV:

You woke up by yourself, which you found odd since you set the alarm early in the morning. You squinted your eyes, trying to focus on the alarm clock on the nightstand, and saw it was 10:00 am, four hours after you set to be awake. Your eyes widened in horror as you sprung out of bed. "Oh, cuss!" You exclaimed, hurrying to remove your pajamas to put on your work clothes.

I had deliveries planned early today!

This can't be happening!

"Woah!" You tripped over yourself and tumbled onto the floor; while on the ground, half undressed, you took a breather and tried to calm down.

During this, you hear footsteps rushing toward the bedroom, the door slams open, and you see Lovino standing at the doorway. "(Y/n), are you okay?!" He questions, rushing to your side and helping you up.

"Yeah..." You mutter, then feel tears form in your eyes. You gaze at Lovino, his face written with worry. Your bottom lip trembled. "No..." You embrace him and cry in his chest.

He hugs you back and strokes your head. "Va tutto bene, ragazza. (It's okay, girl.)" He stays silent for a second as you let it all out. Lovino pulls you back and looks into your eyes. "Now that you've had a good cry, what's wrong? This is not an ideal way to wake up."

You wipe your tears away. "I had tons of orders to deliver early today, but I'm hours late to all of them!" You cried again.

Lovino smiled sadly at you and pulled out a small stack of envelopes. "You mean these?"

You took the papers from him and scanned through them. Gasping at realizing what Lovino had done for you. "The orders... they're all delivered..." You chuckle. "You did this?"

Lovino's face turns away from your gaze, feeling his cheeks heating up. "I thought you could use the extra time to rest before your birthday..."

"Thank you so much, sweet cheeks~." You kissed his cheek and raffled up his hair.

"Okay, okay, we should get ready." He laughs slightly and gently pushes you toward the bathroom.

You put your foot through the gap as he tries to close the door behind you. "Can you help me change~?" You ask in a sweetly sick tone that melts through his heat like chocolate.

"Oh, ragazza..." He clicks his tongue and enters inside.

After an *ahem*, Lovino promised you that you two would do anything you wanted, even if he was against it, just for your birthday, which was only for a day.

How bad could it be?

Lovino would be sorely mistaken when you wanted to do something now for a long time, and it shook the man to his core.

But what was this unspoken thing?

Well...

"Why did I agree to do this?!" Lovino shouted hundreds of feet in the air. His eyes shut tight, and he refused to open them since the take-off.

"Because you love me! That's why!" You replied cheerfully as you two hang-glided above a part of the Naples province. "Come on, Lovino! Open those beautiful hazel eyes of yours! You're missing out!"

"Your cheesy compliments won't work this time, ragazza!" He retorts boldly through the blush forming on his face.

"Please!  I have to say, this view is stunning!"

He growled in frustration, then sighed. Slowly opening one eye, he immediately opened the other as he was met with the beauty of the radiant green land and the colorful buildings next to the glimmering sea at a full wide display.

You watch him as he was caught in the moment.

"I've... never seen it like this before in all my years..." He sniffled, trying to hold back tears.

"You can cry. It's okay!" You comforted the man as he did to you earlier.

"No! I'm too busy taking in the beauty of this lovely day and trying my best not to shit my pants!" Lovino exclaimed truthfully, which made you burst out into laughter. "I'm serious, (Y/n)! Spero tu sia felice! (I hope you're happy!)

"I am, Lovi!" You place your hand on top of his and grin.

That seemed to ease his nerves for the time being in the air. "So, when it's time, how do we land this thing?"

You started blankly at him for a second, trying to progress his question that you may or may not have had yourself when he brought it up. "Well, you see, funny story-." You began softly.

A blood-curdling scream rang across the region, mildly alerting the people below.

"For the calm baker girl aesthetic you carry, you're quite the daredevil..." Lovino says, mentally exhausted from the whole experience back in the safety of your home.

You sat next to him on the couch. "You should have thought of that before marrying me." You tease, poking his cheek.

"I'm not complaining in the slightest..." Lovino sighs as he suddenly remembers something important. "Wait, ragazza. I have a gift for you. I'll be right back." He says, swiftly running upstairs and then back down after a minute. "Here." He hands you a wooden gift basket, the top layer covered with red plastic wrap.

"For me? You shouldn't have!" You gushed, taking the basket and uncovering it.

The items inside were beyond cute and thoughtful.

Several baking items to replace the worn-out supplies you were planning to substitute, recipe books for food and desserts, a little extra cash to spend on other things that you may need or want, and the cherry on top was a freshly baked torta mantovana cake neatly wrapped in brown parchment paper.

'For you, my love <3' was written on top with a black marker.

"Aw, Lovi! You never fail to be adorable!" You squirm, setting everything aside, and pull him into your arms without warning.

He glomped you back and chuckled. "I do try."

"I mean it." You pull away. "Thank you for all that you do. For this morning, for accompanying me on my crazy adventures, and this."

"Y-you're welcome... happy birthday, (Y/n)." Lovino smiles and plants a tender kiss on your lips.

The sudden growl of your stomach partially ruined the moment.

"Hungry? Do you want to eat out or eat here?" He asks sweetly.

"We'll eat out for tonight. You've done more than enough today." You wink, getting up.

"Alright." Lovino offers you a hand. "Lo facciamo? (Shall we?)

"We shall." You grab his hand tightly and securely as you two head out, not before going back and sneaking the cake into your bag.
