After going into the shop and buying the essentials, Brooklyn and Robby went back to the caravan that he had taken from Larruso, the rich guy who owns those car dealership. It turns out that he was the kid that Sam had cheated on. He was on the run because he had accidently kicked Tory's ex over a railing. Brooklyn got it: she was always getting into trouble unfairly and for trying to defend herself. That's why she started street-fighting and why he started karate.
They understood each other and Brooklyn could tell that he was special, despite being completely drunk.
Robby could tell that she was just as messed up as him. Yet she still trusted people which was something that he hardly ever did. Whenever he even got close to letting go and building a real relationship it was always ruined and reminded him that the world was out to get him and so every time he rebuilt his walls they got higher and higher. But Brooklyn was different.
She was in the same boat as Robby in the big unfair world yet she was still capable of living her life like she wasn't. She trusted, she loved, she could still smile and laugh and be free. Robby wished that he could be just like her. A carefree spirit who didn't turn her back on the world even when it turned it's back on her and left her for dead.
Robby felt like he had known her his whole life and for once began to lessen his walls. She understood him. She could tell that his walls were strong and high yet she didn't ever try to pressure him into opening up, letting him go at his own pace and allowing him to be in control which he was grateful for.
They were polar opposites yet they both felt the same feeling of comfort and safety within each others presence, even though they were on the run from the police in a stolen vehicle just talking. Brooklyn did the majority of talking while Robby sat and listened and took in all of the emotion that was radiating off of her.
Brooklyn loved to talk. She loved to ramble on about everything, anything and nothing. Robby loved to listen. To hear others voice their inner thoughts and emotions and throw them out into the open like a dandilion does with it's seeds when a small child comes along to make a wish and blows it away along with the little bundles of new life.
The next morning they found themselves tangled up in one another on the small bed in the stolen caravan. At first Brooklyn couldn't remember where she was and how she got there but as soon as she remembered a warmth spread throughout her body, bringing a smile along with it, combating the cold touch of Robby's peaceful body lay sleeping.
