Chapter 3 ✭I Don't Want to Hurt Anyone Anymore✭

"Damn!!! I dropped my weapon! SPIT US OUT DAMMIT!" Maki yelled, she stomped her foot in anger.

Yuta had woken up from being knocked out by the impact.

"Where are we?" Yuta asked, he held his throbbing head.

"We're in that curse's stomach. At least don't pass out while we're here, alright?" Maki answered, she put her hands on her hips.

"So that means...we were eaten?!" Yuta questioned, his eyes widened.

"Yes, dumbass! Is that curse not gonna protect you at all?!" Maki yelled, her eyes twitched angrily.

"I don't know when Rika will come out either! More importantly, what should we do?!" Yuta said. He tried his best to change the subject.

He was more worried about getting out of the curse's stomach rather than talking about his dead best friend.

"Once the time limit is up, the Curtain will be lifted and they'll come to save us." Maki said, she was interrupted by the voice of a young child.

"HELP! Please, he seems like he's about to die!"

Yuta and Maki turned to see two kids next to them.

The kid who was asking for help was holding an unconscious little boy on his lap.

'Are these the kids that were abducted by the curse? Yeah, there are two of them.'

"Thank goodness, they're still alive..." Yuta smiled, he let out a small sigh of relief.

"This isn't good, you know. Look closely. The bigger kid is completely cursed too. They could both drop dead any second, and it wouldn't be surprising." Maki explained, she pointed to kids as she spoke.

The two children had several patches of black goop growing on them. Yuta swore he saw an eyeball pop out too, he shuddered at the sight.

"No way! What should we do...?!" Yuta asked, his voice full of concern.

"There's nothing we can do. We can only wait to be saved!" Maki yelled, she looked away. "This is embarrassing!"

"There's no one who has the same resistance to curses as you do." Maki added, she started to breathe heavily as she swayed.

"Zen'in?" Yuta asked. He turned around to see Maki fall. She hit the ground with a loud thud.

"Zen'in!" Yuta yelled, he ran over to his classmate.

"What kind of wound is this..was she cursed...?" Yuta questioned, as he inspected Maki's leg. It had that same black goop with several creepy eyeballs on it.

"Hey, is that lady dead? Help us, mister!" The older boy said.

"I-I can't." Yuta whispered, he averted his gaze to the ground.

"Even if...you say that...Okkotsu, tell me honestly. Why did you come...to Jujutsu High?!" Maki said, she raised her voice as she grabbed Yuta's collar. "What do you want to do?! What do you want to achieve?!" She yelled, she waited for him to answer.

"I...I don't want to hurt anyone anymore...I tried to seclude myself and get rid of it...but...when I was told it would be lonely being all alone, I couldn't come up with a response." Yuta whispered.

"I want to have a connection with someone. I want to be needed by someone! I want the confidence to feel like.. It's okay to live!" Yuta yelled, tears formed in his eyes.
