Chapter 13 Who are you?

Khalil's Pov

It was 6 o'clock in the morning and I was ringing Cole's phone.

Yes I know he said not to call him but this is serious I found Grey! It's his best friend why wouldn't he be happy to hear this.

"Hello"

"Cole I'm so glad you answered, first I'm sorry for how I've been slacking off but now I'm focused and another thing I have exciting news!" I said

"What is it?" He asks

"I found Grey!" I exclaim

"Oh"

Oh?

"Wait am I missing something here?" I asked

"I never tried to look for Grey"

"What?"  I whisper

My heart sank

"Yes I never tried looking for him"

"Why didn't you?" I shout

He didn't answer

"We we're all worried about him, wondering if something was wrong! He could've been kidnapped or worse. Dead!" I said a tear fell out of my eyes

"Because it was not necessary Khalil!" He said sternly

"Bu-" he cuts me off

"He was my best friend before you ever knew him! You think I would've sit my ass down and not do a fuck to find him. Think damn it there had to be a reason why I didn't look for him, he needed the time and space to grow. He wanted to be focused and strong to become who he is now"

"And this means you haven't got the chance to talk to him as yet, so I definitely know he haven't told you why he left and it's not my place to say but if you were really focusing like I asked you to do. find Ryan and Maddox you would've already know"

"I'm sorry I'm just so confused right now" I mumbled low

"It's okay I'm sorry that I'm being hard on you but I need you to be strong Khalil, show me you're strong enough to handle it all and you'll see what I have in store for you but you can't get it unless you prove you're ready"

"I know Cole and I'm always grateful for you" I smiled

I heard a lil sound came from him so I know he's smiling as well.

There's only a few people Coles shows emotion to and that's why it feel so great to have him guiding me.

"Babe?" I heard Cass voice in the back of me. I went downstairs so I couldn't wake him I guess I still did anyway.

"Yes" I turned to him smiling

"I want t- I mean last night was great" he smiled softly

I did a short chuckle "Yeah it was but wait until we have sex I think you'll love it more" I said smirking and walking into the kitchen to make us breakfast

As we ate I looked at Cass I wanted to ask him something but didn't know if it was time but I'm going to ask anyways

"Why were you letting those guys beat on you" I looked at him awaiting an answer.

I watched his chewing paced slowed down "W-What do you mean? I let them beat on me"

I narrowed my eyes "Don't lie to me"

"I-"

"We're past the lies now talk I'm waiting" I said biting a piece of bacon

Yes staying by Ria and Cole all those months made me love bacon

"I had to" he sighed

I stayed silent and waited for him to continue

"My boss is actually with the mafia he told me he learned a lot from some super smart guy before he left and went on his own, but the place where I work is full of hit man's, mafia members, drug dealers and all kinds of other people" he says

"Okay and what are you?" I questioned

"I'm the bosses brother" he whispered

"You're his brother even so they still should treat you with respect"

"They don't know and I rather keep it that way" he mutters low

"Wow, so when we're you planning to tell me this? And why were you allowing them to hit on you? You haven't answered my question"

"Because I don't want to hurt anyone and put that guilt on my conscience and I was going to tell you at some point when I was ready" he mumbled

I nod looking down at the ground. "So Greyson is your brother?" I asked. I had to, I just needed that confirmation for myself

"Yes"

I was dating Grey's little brother all this time and never once did I notice any similarities or behaviors or even the last name I haven't even tried to get to know who I was with before I got so deep in, this is exactly what Cole was talking about.

I never pay attention and even if I am I'm not paying attention to the things I should be paying attention to.

I was deep in my thoughts when Cass came closer to me "It's okay if you want to end things Khalil, I understand"

My head snap up towards him "You think something like that is gonna scare me off from you? It won't but I will tell you this I do have questions for your brother and I'm gonna need some answers" I said

He nods jumping to hug me  "I want you to meet my family Khalil. I want to take this to the next step, will you be my boyfriend?" He asks

My eyes shined at the sight of him and what he just said this is the first time I've ever been officially asked out by a guy

"Yes and yes, I want to be your boyfriend and meet your family" I hugged him

"I'm so happy" he says tears coming out of his eyes

I kissed his lips then we continued our breakfast

"Let's meet them now since it's Sunday everyone will be there" he says

"Sure let me change first"
