(Story takes place in S1 E1)
All good stories have a ending."A long, long time ago our ancestor's, Chen Lǎohǔ (老虎) and his wife Lin Lǎohǔ (老虎) were simple poor mortal rice and cow farmers they would spend all day and night working hard to feed their only child Meilin Lǎohǔ (老虎), Meilin Lǎohǔ (老虎) was a wise child and was well respected by her village for her knowledge and beauty" You mother said in a sweet voice as she held a dark red book with golden stripes down the side and was coated in worn down black leather, "does that mean we are as smart and beautiful as her?" You say tiredly as your mother looked down at you and smiled "of course it does" she gave you and affection pat on the head before turning the page "now where was I?" She continues "ah yes, One day the village went up in flames the flames reaching the hight of the highest tree in China" you gasped and let out a 'wow', "what happened to Meilin?" You said eagerly waiting an answer "tragically Meilin's parents were engulfed in the flames killing them both and leaving Meilin alone and that was the day Meilin declared that she would avenge her family by finding out who started the fire and killing them restoring her honour to her family for not being there to save her mother and father from their unexpected demise and became devoted in protecting those who were close to her" You look up at you mother with sadness for the girl but you couldn't help but wonder, "what if the fire was an accident? what if they didn't mean it? Would of Meilin still of hurt them?" Your mother sighed "I wish that was the case, but it was some accident powerful demons who had made a deal with Meilin's parents who gave up their souls to save their child" you titled your head in confusion, "but why would they do that?" you said as your mother licked her finger turning the page "Meilin was very sick as an infant, she was weak and close to death so they searched far an wide for someone to help their only child, when suddenly as the child was about to take it's last breath the two demons engaged Hǔ hún (虎魔) and Shé jīng (蛇精) the Tiger and Snake spirit made their way towards the couple, Meilin's parents begged for the demon spirits help" you were bouncing up and down now the story that was supposed to put you to sleep had filled you with energy, "what happened next?" your mother laughed, "this isn't the type of story to be excited about little one" you settled back down into your bed, "I know but I just want to know what comes next? Like how Meilin will kick their butts!" your mother ran her soft fingers through your hair "it's alright my flower it is a intriguing story for kids at lest" she cleared her throat and continued "the spirits kindly offered their help to the two poor mortals and the cost of their help was their souls, the couple began to beg again they both what to see their child grow up but also wanted their child to survive, so the spirits and humans came to a agreement, in 10 years the spirits would come for the couples soul so they would be able to see the child grow up, after the deal was settled the spirits granted the couple a amulet with extraordinary power unlike anything the couple had seen, they placed it around the baby's neck healing the child but also allowing the child to use such power unseen and unused by an mortal being making them immortal but only when they had the amulet on they were able to stay healthy and strong but without it they would perish" you raised an eyebrow confused "but what about Meilin! What did she do with the sprits?" Your mother shrugged softly, "I'm sorry little one the story ends there" you groaned in annoyance, "don't be upset dear I have a gift for you" you completely forget out the story curious about your new present, "what is it a new toy?" your mother shake's her head "not quite" she pulls out and old looking green amulet with a red ribbon around it "wait is that... the amulet from the story it's real?!" your mouth hung opened "yes and now it is your turn to be the bearer of this amulet" she said kissing your forehead "I love you mamma" you smiled up at you mother "I love you too".
