七 - The Training Begins

You both had been training for a week straight only stopping to eat, rest or sleep and you weren't going to lie and say you were not tired at all or that the demon hadn't grown on you over the past couple days. You were physically drained as you had cut and bruises all over you body from the fact that you had the worst balance ever and the fact that he used that to his advantage during training. You were staying in his dusty dojo for a while as he trained for your big trip, of course you told your aunt this before agreeing to stay with him. He had gave you an old room with a mattress and the thinnest blanket you had ever seen and it didn't help that it was the middle of winter the time were it starts to snow like crazy so for most nights you were to cold to even get a wink of sleep. "Are you up?" he said lurking over you while you tried to take a nap "yep" you said struggling to sit up due to the lack of energy that you had "I'll be downstairs when you're ready" you nodded as you stood up and did a big stretch before putting on your training gear as soon as he left your room. You walked into the open space of the dojo were Macaque was holding a metallic silver staff "aww, what happened to the bamboo staff?" you asked as you rapped your wrists in bandages preparing for training "you don't need it anymore so I threw it away" you sulked just as you were getting the hand of it "plus I think your ready for more advance stuff. You've come a long way" he said giving you a quick smile before looking away his ears going slightly bight pink as he cleared his throat "anyway we're working on your defence today" he said summoning his purple shadow staff "you ready bight-eye's?" you blush a bit at the stupid nickname he had adopted to you over the past couple of days "shut your mouth" you snapped as you went to pick up you new staff barely getting off the ground due to it's heavy wight then quickly got into a defensive position as he came at you. He was going easy on you again he had been doing this since you started training after you had told him not to which annoyed you, you weren't just some 'weak mortal' as he would say "that's all you got?" you said blocking his attack if you could even call them that he grinned then let out a cheeky laugh "I know what you're doing sweetheart it's not going to work" he said continuing to attack you as if you were a child "come on! I can take it. Macaroni" you teased as he huffed as his eyebrow twitched, he hated when you called him that "okay but remember you asked for it" he said attack you fast from all sides you barely had time to react to his blows that you had miss placed your footing and twisted your ankle really bad "Fuck!" you shouted out all you fell to the ground "shit, you good sweetheart? I didn't get you did I?" you shook your head "I just tripped over my own feet I should be-" you went to get up which only resulted in you falling back down again and Macaque barely being able to catch you "fine" you hissed out as you fell back into his arms "you need to relax sweetie, let me take care of you for once" you sighed looking up at him, he actually sounded genuine for once "okay fine but don't get to comfortable" he smirked "whatever you say".

You laid down on the couch as Macaque rapped your foot in bandages "your lucky that you only pulled your muscle it should be fine in about two weeks, you just have to rest it for now" you giggled a bit "okay Dr. Macaque" he let out a little giggle before clearing his throat "come on be serious you could of got hurt really bad back there" he sighed "I'll go get you some food you stay put, got it?" you nodded as he pulled a big fluffy blanket over you "I'll be back" he looked down at you leaning in like he was about to do something but the quickly pulled away then disappeared into the shadows and with that you slowly overcame to exhaustion as your eyes fluttered shut.

The sound of blood curling screams filled your ears as to did the chocking smell of ash making your throat collapse and become stuffy filling your lungs with this toxic black ash, where were you? you tried to shout out for Macaque for anyone but no one came to answer your cry's. You tried to look around but the smoke was to thick but from what you could tell this was a temple of some sort and you were some form of a nursery, suddenly a wave off terror filled your soul as you could see the fire getting closer as you felt it's deadly burn on your skin, you could move when all of a sudden a soft pair of hand picked you up "there isn't enough time!" you recognised that soft loving voice it was your mothers but what was she talking about "there going to get in and take you away from me but I won't let them" she said as she drew her blade "my child don't be afraid stop with the tears" she said wiping your tears as she reached down her dress and pull  the amulet from her neck making the chain snap in half and little pieces that escaped from the chain clang to the floor as she put the amulet around your neck "it is yours now" what but? you didn't remember it happening like this, what? you tried to talk but it only came out as a sequel or a cry then the door came crashing down "Nǚwáng (王后) do not make this harder that it already is give us the child and the amulet" a tall demon red demon with sharp claws and pointed teeth roared as he stood in a full step of silver warrior armour as he towered over the both of you "Lìliàng Xúnqiú zhě (功率 寻求者) I have told you that you are not welcome here leave this sacred temple place at once!" she said pointing her blade at the man "Nǚwáng (王后) stand down or i'll kill you and your offspring" he said his fangs showing as he snarled "my lady!" a feminine voice said from behind the demon as she sidled under the demon and stood in front of us "Bǎohù zhě! (保护者) Get out of here!" your mother shouted at the woman as she stood in front of you both "I made an promise protect you I don't intend on breaking it" now that you looked closer she kind of looked like your aunt? "All this despair has made me hungry now move! I need to feed on that child" he went to charge at us I clenched my eye and nothing wait what happened? you looked to see your mother had started to fight the demon while Bǎohù zhě (保护者) held you "take [Y/n] and leave this place do not come back for me quickly go!" She said on the defensive "but Nǚwáng (王后)! The-" your mother grunted as she tried to block the demons brutal attacks "listen to me Bǎohù zhě (保护者) take [Y/n] and protect them with your life it is your new duty your new oath, now GO!" she said shouting the last part as the demon gave a brutal blow to her stomach, then it flashed red, orange then finally fading into darkness.

You woke up in a panic what was that? you held your head in your hands as you tried to comprehend what just happened and what that dream was trying to tell you, when a bright flash from your amulet blinded you but only for a second, why was all this happening now? "Lotus you up? I got food!" Macaque shouted from somewhere in the dojo making you jump "yeah i'm up!" you shouted back as you pushed yourself up into a sitting position as you heard his heavy footsteps getting closer to were you were, "I didn't know what you liked so I just got one of everything" he said awkwardly as he put down the plastic bag onto the coffee table nearby "it's okay" you said softly still a bit shook from that dream or memory? whatever it was it really bummed you out "you alright sweetheart?" He said reaching out to touch your cheek but you flinch moving away from him, you knew he was trying to help you, trying to comfort you but you still couldn't trust him you couldn't help but think of all the times he had tried to hurt you, steal from you, you couldn't help it "no I'm alright" you lied as you fiddle with your hands in your lap "your not okay, if you just talk to me-" he said putting his hand over yours you flinch once again "stop! Don't talked to me like that" Macaque backed up not expecting you to shout as he held his ears in pain then let out an animalistic growl in annoyance "like what? Trying to be nice to you?" he snapped standing up clenching his fits "yes I know that I've been an ass but at least I'm trying to change" he said bearing his sharp fangs as he clenched them down before turning away "wait Macaque! I wasn't-" you didn't get to finish went he disappeared into the shadows.

God you felt like such an asshole, you thought as you munched down on some fortune cookies not caring for the notes inside soon all of them were gone and all that was left in the bamboo box was a small piece of paper, you were thinking about eating it but you decided that reading before eating would be better, you opened the neatly folded paper and... it was blank? What? you flipped the paper over to see if anything was on the back and still nothing, someone was sleeping of the job you thought as you shrugged it off and crumbled it up into a ball and threw it across the room. When you had finished eating you decided to go look for Macaque despite your foot injury making it a living hell to walk you had to find him, lucky for you he wasn't far away. He was in the training grounds of the dojo using a punching on the soft red matt he was punching the punching bag so violently that you could see holes in the walls were he had punched it so hard that it went flying backwards smashing into the wall, he was clearly still annoyed with you and he also had some major anger issues "Macaque?" you said softly leaning against the stair banister to stay up, he didn't relay only hitting the poor bag harder "can we talk?" he grunted "Macaque please just listen to what I have to say" he growled before tuning around to face you "fine you have five minutes" he said through his teeth, you took a deep breath before speaking "your right about everything I've been a total jerk to you even though you're trying to change and I really appreciate that" you looked him in the eye "I've never been good with my own emotions but it didn't give me the right to shout at you like that" you sighed "you've been kind to me despite everything and you make me genuinely happy Macaque I mean it" you looked at his shocked red expression as you continued "I guess what I'm trying to say is that" you paused for a second "I'm sorry" you looked up at him waiting for him to say something anything but all he did was look at you with a dazed expression "so? are we good?" you said nervously waiting for an answer but you were only greeted with his comforting arms bring you into a reassuring hug "yeah we are sweetheart" he said holding you tighter "thank god" you said melting into his arms "I don't know what I'd be doing with out you. Probably something boring" you laughed into his fur "aw so you do love me Lotus?" you pushed him away blushing "shut up you goof ball" you said playfully "where do you think your going?" he said grabbing your arm pulling you back into his chest and ruffling your hair, "let's get you back on the couch before you hurt your foot even more" and with that a beautiful friendship started to blossom for now.
