"Ro! For the sake of God! Stop stuffing your mouth with those sweets! They are meant for the family that's coming to see Bua!" I groaned out loud hearing Mumma shouting from another room.

(Bua- father's sister)

It's a complete mystery to me how does she know what I am doing even when we aren't facing each other.

But... I couldn't just keep down my Kaju katli now, could I?

Gambling in my head for the last time, I bet on the sweet I shall have, I settled for rasmalai and devoured the sweet milk too.

Sighing with a happy appetite, I patted my soft potato-like stomach, this was bliss.

"Archu, get down already!" I heard Mumma say to Archana, my older sister.

There was chaos all around the house yet I was in delight after having my mid-afternoon pre-lunch snacks.

My Bua, Jyothi, my papa's youngest cousin's sister had finally introduced her boyfriend to family members and now his family was coming to meet everyone else too.

I was happy for her.

Bua was someone that worked too hard for her own good, something I admired about her but couldn't follow myself.

I loved to lazy around, have sweets, and just do nothing.

In my family of four, we were very happy. Archu di and I had a very special and strong bond, unlike other sisters that I heard. Maybe because I never had the energy to go against her.

When I heard happy waves of laughter coming from the living room, I went there to see everyone. They all had big smiles on their faces and Bua seemed flustered with her head down and red cheeks.

I'm a teenager, I do notice.

I know the adults got a bit uncomfortable with me present among them, so, they shifted their topic, I walked back inside roaming around.

This was my paternal grandfather's mansion. We come here often, and it's alright.

It is big and spacious, yet I and Di don't have a room, we share it with papa and Mumma whenever we have a night's stay, which luckily isn't so often, perhaps like when it's dadu or dadi's birthday I guess which was 4 months back.

While looking at everyone's photos hung on walls, I heard the family moving into the dining area, where I was eating sweets earlier.

I happily went to Mumma and stood near her.
