Raina Khurana pov
flashback
Back when I was a toddler, I felt like the princess of this world, my world.
As I and Archu di had much of a gap, all attention was on me, so whenever someone tried to talk to my family, naturally I got jealous.
So, I used subtle ways to have their attention on me. I know it sounds sick, but I was 4. There was only right and wrong in my world then.
One time, when my friends and I were at the park playing with sand. Two girls decided to play see-saw and I happened to be close to it.
I continued making my sand dough cake when suddenly a sharp metallic object pierced my head. Blood dripped into my hair slightly and ran down my face length.
The girls in the playground panicked and ran away. Disha, a tenant's daughter who moved in a month ago stayed back and helped me get up the stairs.
She didn't go to my house with me though, she left after I rang my house bell.
Suman aunty, Hitesh's uncle's wife. Hitesh's uncle was my mother's second cousin and also a childhood friend. Naturally, Mumma and Suman aunty got along well.
When the door opened, Mumma had already faced me with her back and was walking away to the kitchen to cook and Suman aunty was stirring something with a ladle.
"Mumma!" I called her but she didn't look back.
They continued their talks while I grew distressed.
"Mumma! I'm hurt!" I shouted from my place.
"You will be fine after a while baccha!" she replied from the kitchen.
"Mumma, I'm bleeding!" tears formed in my eyes at her reluctance to attend to me.
"As Archu to tend you!"
I sniffed and went to Archu Di's room. She was 10 years old back then. I walked into her room; she was playing some game on her phone.
"Di, I got hurt" I nudged her arm.
She looked at me and gave a horrified reaction.
"Mumma!" she shouted at once.
This time, unlike before, Mumma rushed into her room asking what happened?
"Mumma Ro is bleeding from the head!" she caught my shoulders and twisted me around to show our Mumma.
Mumma too looked very much shocked.
Immediately she called papa and he came back rushing from the office and we left for the hospital.
The incision wasn't too deep luckily but I had lost blood, which was not good for my little body and I fell unconscious in the car itself.
