Unlikely Nature

Among the flowers
Roams a creature of the night.
The most unlikely beast
To show in your sight.

Eyes of gleaming green
Fur as white as snow.
Her sharpened fangs
Begin to show.

Roses as red as blood
Crumble beneath her feet.
Carnations of the lightest pink
Pulled between her teeth.

Onward she stalks
A trail of prints left behind.
Through the shrubs
For a victim to find.

A ball of fur
Of a tawny brown
Chews absentmindedly
At the grass on the ground.

Her tongue flicks out
With a slight flash of teeth.
She pounces upon her meal
Showing no mercy.

Blood drips from her muzzle
As she prances away.
Trailing crimson drops
On the flowers that sway.
