The sound of waves crashing all around me
Calms me more than I have been in a while
The cold air crawls up my arms
And my heart is beating wild.
I want to scream and cry out save me
But the words never leave my lips
I fall beneath the waves
I am now a sunken ship.
My vessel is drowning, leaving life behind
What is life when you're never fine?
Water leaks down my throat as my eyes close
And striking cold stops this heart of mine.
Above, on the sand, are written the words I could not say
Left to be found before me
Too much of a coward to make them see
That I was drowning before I left the beach...
