Liam's pov

I watch the raging hell hound that was my mate strut back to camp as the tied up man snivels on the ground beside me. My eyes turn to him. He cowers as if he's come face to face with a grim reaper. Little dose he know how true that is. My face feels as if it's made of stone. I bend down on one knee in front of the terrified man.

"Who are you to Skyler?" I grit out. The man starts crying again. My hand wraps around the knife in his shoulder, than twists slightly. He screams out in agony. "What is Skyler to you?" I bite off. He whines a couple of incoherent words. I twist the knife again. He shouts out for an Emily in pain. Either he refuses to tell me what was going on or he must be half mad right now.

Since there is nothing I can get out of him in this state, I pick him up solemnly, leaving the knife in his shoulder, and head back to camp. One way or another I will find out who he is and why Skyler felt the need to kill him. If he's harmed her in any way, than I will personally take care of him. He will receive what he deserves, ten fold. Sky is too beautiful of a person to become a monster like me.

Everyone made it to my home by mid-afternoon. Gavin had given orders early this morning to a few of his men so they could head to the base and tell every body that they are moveing on to my land. Skyler seemed continuously moody since last night, refusing to talk to me since. She past me, heading straight for the house. I hope this is just a side effect to the bonding. With full blooded humans it can trigger temporary over-aggression, due to the coming physical changes.

A whimper catches my attention. Brandy is tending to the man with the knife still sticking out of his shoulder. He is laid on a make shift stretcher, slipping in and out of consciousness. I mind-link with Penny, telling her to get a prisoner's room ready in the locked sector of the basement. After I interrogate him, he should give me enough information and proof to prosecute Canis in the lunar courts. Once the council has read the statement, I'll put a bounty on Canis's head. Father wouldn't be able to touch Gavin, his people or I, after that. Well, not legally anyway. I mind-link my pack council, telling them of the plans, then head to the basement to get ready for the interrogation.

Canis's pov

Harlow came back after a three day search for the rooster, empty handed. Turns out that pesky pet was more resourceful in the woods than I thought . "Let me get this straight, the rooster slipped from one of your men's hands and threw himself into Gavin's low-breeds." Harlow nodded solemnly. At least Harlow has the brains to keep quiet and take it like a good little lap dog, unlike the former Cathrin. I burn holes into his respectfully bowed head. "Then.....?" I snidely ask. He shifts a bit on his bent knee.

"I followed them to their camp site. I waited till it was dark before going into the prisoners tent. I was about to sneak over to it when the girl beat me there. She entered the tent, than dragged the prisoner out. She dragged him deep into the woods away from the camp. Once she found a desirable spot, the girl plunged a knife into the prisoners chest. I was going to grab her after she was done, but the alpha of Gibbous Hunters showed up. I left, coming back here to report that your pesk problem was taken care of." His monotone voice grated at my nerves.

Rage filled me because of his incompetence. I picked up a side table next to me and threw it into the cabins living room wall. It exploded against the logs. I turned to Harlow. " you were right there, close enough to breath down her shirt, but you didn't take her!!" Harlow didn't even flinch bring my anger passed boiling.

"I'm no match for a mated alpha." He calmly states. Some of the rage dissipates to annoyance. Figures my little brother wouldn't waist any time.

"Is the process complete or is he trying to be a gentleman and hasn't bedded her yet?" A slight red ting colors Harlow's ears out of embarrassment from my question, which puts me in a slightly better mood.

"I believe he's only marked her." My spirits lift.

"Well that is very good news. We still have some time. Quiet a bit after the romping the rooster gave her all week. She'll want to stay away from any man for a while, especially Liam." I snicker. Harlow stays quiet, he is turning out to be a better beta by the minute.

"Alpha we better move fast to your affiliate's pack land. The Gibbous Hunters will be scouring your lands and taking over your pack by tomorrow." I scowl at what I've lost. My plans to eradicate all of those low-breeds backfired because of Gavin that disgusting half-mutt. Just wait Gavin, I'll make sure you and your low-breeds will rest in peace soon.

"Let's go, we'll leave everything for now, but we will be back to take over. Our affiliates are waiting for the next plan.
