"Come in," Erwin says as he sits up straight.

Levi enters his office and shuts the door behind him. He meets Erwin's gaze, a concerned look in his eyes.

"My condolences. Today was a trying day." Erwin says empathetically.

"Tch. that's a hell of a way to put it." Levi scoffs as he pours himself a drink.

"If you ever need to talk..."

"No. I don't."

"Right then... I assume a report will be given to my office by tomorrow?"

"Yes, sir..."

"What is it, Levi?"

"A cadet from the 104th... the new one on Hange's squad. I'd like to see her file." Levi said curtly.

"Cadet L/n? Her file should be in Hange's office... Why do you want it?"

"It's a sickening thought... but I do not want to involve four-eyes. Even if L/n is on her squad."

"What seems to be the problem?"

"We had an altercation the night before and during the recon mission. It raised my suspicions and made me think she was the traitor. But that is clearly not the case."

"I see... what do you hope to gain from finding the information about her?"

"I don't give a rat's ass about her. I care if she was sent here undercover... by the brass."

"The brass? Aces, Levi, just what are you suggesting?"

"Are you familiar with the interior police?"

"It's a royal rumor... a secret group that works for the king in the shadows. Said to also have the elite of the elite soldiers. You don't suspect..."

"It's all just speculation... it's like she has this... secret in her eyes."

"Secretive eyes, huh? Are you sure this L/n  isn't just occupying your thoughts too much for comfort?

"Tch... I don't know what you mean by that."

"I've heard Hange say that she's been looking at you. Why don't you use her interest in you to see if she'll talk?"

"And how do you imagine I do that? I'm currently grieving the loss of my fiance."

"And while I sympathize, you also know that Petra is gone. If she's taken a liking to you... I suggest you exploit it."

"Tch..." Levi scoffs. He walks out of Erwin's office and towards his own.

'What the hell is Erwin thinking... exploit her stupid 'interest'. The fuck does he mean by that... it's not like i even like the brat... let alone know who she is.'

This was it... the night the infamous Captain Levi will die. It's almost befitting that he lost his fiance; you could stage it as a suicide. The loss of his lover being too much for him to bear. You took a deep breath, and checked your left leg holster that was holding a knife. Since the target is known for also being well trained, he more than likely will have his own weapon. You knocked on the door and waited for him to reply.

"State your name and basis."

"Cadet Y/n, sir. You asked to see me." you replied, almost shaking from his voice. Why the hell am I nervous?...

"You may enter." Levi replied.

You opened the door and closed it shut, glancing at the lock, but deciding to leave it to not cause suspicion. You faced Levi, who was sitting at his desk writing papers and putting them to the side. You saluted as you scanned the room; it was very minimalist, with a single bookshelf, a chair in front of his desk, and another door that seemed to lead to a separate room. It was spotless as well, not a single speck of dust in sight.
