You stared out of the carriage window, the ride now silent after you stopped crying. You curled yourself into a ball, hiding your face from the strange men who took you. A few hours later, the carriage stopped and you looked up to see that you were now inside a massive wall and a castle a few meters away. The pastor holds out his hand, offering it to help you out of the carriage. You take it cautiously, holding his hand tightly as you walk between him and the other two gunmen. There were more people wearing the same uniform from before, standing diligently and their eyes forward. You look down as you continue to walk, heading inside the great castle. You were taken to a room with a table and multiple chairs, the pastor motioning you to take a seat. You sit obediently and keep your head low.

"I know this must seem strange, little one. Why don't I introduce myself; my name is Pastor Nick. and you are?" Nick says with fake sympathy.

"I'm... not supposed to say it..." you say softly.

"Do you know anything about your father?"

"No..." you say as you shake your head.

"Well, your father is a descendant of the king of this land. Has he or your mother told you that before?" Nick asks.

'You don't tell a soul about who you are or where you come from...'

You shake your head again.

"I see... Well, unfortunately I am not here to offer you the crown or title of 'princess'. You are only half royal, and thus cannot assume the throne. Does that make you upset?"

You shake your head.

"Wonderful... now, let me ask you a few more things. Do you want to be free from your family name?"

You blink at the question. Your mother had grown apart from you after Historia was born... she threw you by the hair and said you were a burden... and without meeting your father, it's like you weren't even a part of the family in the first place.

"Yes... I want out of the family... and I want off of this island."

Pastor Nick gasps silently, your words taking him back. "This island? How do you know this land is an island?" he asks.

"Mom had... I mean, that lady had a book with a story of a world outside of this one. I don't want to be here anymore... I don't have a family..." you say sadly.

"Well... maybe we can arrange that" Nick says slyly, his lips curling into a sinister grin.

You look up with longing eyes. "Really??" you ask hopefully.

"I can't promise I can let you go right now... or even in a few years. But, I will go talk to the king and see what he can do." Nick says, standing up and walking towards the door. "Stay here until I get back. And, since you've given up your family name, I think it's only fitting that you come up with a new one." he says as he closes the door.

Your heart was beating quickly. So many things were rushing through your mind, but your heart that was once filled with joy was now filled with determination and resentment. You hated your mother... you hated the family name you've been cursed with... and you were willing to do anything to be free from it.

Eren had a warrant for his arrest, and his trial date was a week after the mission. Since the secret plan to trap the titan traitor failed, the court will be taking Eren prisoner, and keep him locked up as a guinea pig. Though it wasn't easy for you to keep in touch with your squad leader... Your altercation with Levi flooded your head for the remainder of the week.

What the fuck happened that night... I'm a trained assassin. Yet somehow he overpowered me in mere seconds and I left my weapon in his office. Shit... I'm going to need to get it back... You pull out of your thoughts and got dressed in your uniform and headed to the main courtroom when you bump into someone familiar.

"Oh, Y/n! Just the person I needed. Come, I need you on a special assignment!" Hange said in a giddy tone.

"Assignment? Isn't everyone supposed to attend the trial?" you asked.

"Oh no, did you not attend the meeting last night? I'm pretty sure I told Levi to invite everyone who was in the 104th cadet corps?" they asked as they continued walking.

"I'm sorry... must've slipped my mind. It won't happen again, Section Commander." you say respectfully as you follow them to the back of the building. Did he 'forget' to mention that?... or does he suspect me... shit, shit, shit...

"Ah, just call me Hange. Anyways... to put a long story short, we're attempting one final capture of the female titan behind the military police's backs." they whisper. Your eyes widened.

"Won't the entire regiment be court martialed??" you ask with fake nervousness.

"Not to worry. I have faith this attempt will result positively. We know the name of the soldier and have the others in position. You kinda didn't show up to the meeting..."

"Right... Again, apologies for that."

"Don't sweat it, let's just keep moving."

It wasn't long until all hell broke loose. The female titan, whose identity was Annie Leonheart, and Eren both assumed titan form and ran ramped through the city of Stohess. You followed closely beside Hange as Annie attempted to flee the wall by climbing over it. Eren stopped her viciously, his body emitting so much steam and heat it almost fused with Annie's. Once Mikasa pulled Eren out, everyone's eyes widened in horror as they looked at the wall. There was a titan inside of it. Your stomach hit the floor at the realization that this was not common knowledge within the walls... and it felt even worse when you heard a familiar voice frantically call out behind you.

"FOR GOD'S SAKE, WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT LET THE SUNLIGHT TOUCH IT!!!" Pastor Nick cried. You turned around and gasped as two scouts held him back from getting closer. You let out a shaky breath, thankful he did not say anything to you. You stayed with Hange as they brought Nick to the top of the wall, along with the rest of her squad.

"What is a titan doing in the wall?" Hange asked bluntly.

"I don't answer to you... let me down from here this instant!" Nick replied.

"If that's what you want..." Hange said menacingly. They grabbed him by the shirt and held him off the edge of the wall, his feet barely touching the ground. He wails in fear as Hange glares at him. "Do you have any idea how many people have died for you? For all of humanity?? All so you can be safe. So are you going to talk? Or would you rather fall to your death in silence..."

"I do not care!! Let me fall, if I die for my beliefs then I die with dignity! We fulfill our duty NO MATTER THE COST!!!" Nick wails as he stretches his arms out.

You can only watch in horror as they speak, holding your tongue from talking in front of Pastor Nick. If he so much as mentioned you, you know for a fact it'd be your head... I shouldn't say anything yet... I need to know who to trust first...

Hange grunts and throws Pastor Nick behind them, sitting down as they sigh.

"I was just messing around. Come on, Pastor, tell me something. Are all of the walls made of titans?" they ask longingly.

Suddenly, the bells ring and Hange turns their head.

This is getting out of hand... if Pastor Nick says anything he might rat me out as an assassin... what if he's getting impatient with me... shit, what if he makes the secret police get involved... shit shit shit!!... What the hell am I going to do...

"TITANS SPOTTED!! WALL ROSE HAS BEEN BREACHED!!!"
