It had been a few hours since their initial meeting. Lana felt weird, as if she was intruding on Wanda's new territory.
Wanda had already obtained this new family. She had been grieving Pietro and they were here for her. Lana couldn't remember her life three years ago. It all seemed to be combined in her own lifestyle without a real identity.
She didn't remember any missions she went on, any of the people she had killed. She was never told why they needed to be killed and that haunted Lana. She didn't know if they were innocent, if they had a family they promised they would get back to. She ruined peoples lives.
Interrupting her thoughts abruptly, was a knock at her door.
"Come in." She called out.
Tony opened the door slowly, walking into the room with his hands in his trouser pockets.
"Hey kid, how ya feeling?" He asked, referring to the argument between Lana and Wanda earlier. What he really wanted to know was how they knew each other.
"I feel weird. It's weird seeing her again." Out of all the avengers she felt the most comfortable around Stark. They were similar in a lot of ways.
"So, what happened between the two of you? She steal your boyfriend?" The billionaire joked, yet Lana didn't find any humour in his response. "She left me to be tortured for years."
Tony realised he wouldn't be able to joke his way through the girls emotions. He just sat and let her talk, she needed someone to listen to her for once.
Lana looked at the floor, sat on her bed. "Still, through all of this, all I can think is that I missed Pietros death. He died and we never got to make amends. He died and he thought I hated him, and I did- I really hated them both for what they did." Lana took a deep breath, trying not to cry. "But he's my family, and I love him. I love them both."
Tony felt a lot of sympathy for the girl. He wanted to make her feel better. "I think you need to talk to Wanda. Actually, we're having a party on Friday. You should stick around."
"No. No I can't stay here." She tried to sound nonchalant about the ordeal but the sadness in her voice seeped through slightly.
"Okay." Tony nodded, his lips pursed out slightly. "But you have to stay for dinner. Sam's cooking and his food is always the best." He said finally, starting to leave the room before Lana could refuse.
She watched him leave the room, not trying to fight him on his decision, honestly she didn't want to.
