The Last Day of 9th Grade

Chapter-5

It's three weeks after that afternoon with Sam and Jack. Today is our last day in 9th grade. From tomorrow we will be having our summer break. I am so excited. I bid byes to my friends and teachers and came out. As usual I found Jack in the parking area but today he has company Sam, Ryan and Jeremy. They are the good guy friends of Jack. I go up to them smiling so brightly and wish them for the break.

"Kay we'll miss you" Ryan said.

"Enjoy your vacation handsome" Jeremy said. And both step forward and give me bear hug.

"Guys I need some air" I pretend to be out of breathe. Smiling back I said "Thank u guys. Wish you both the best summer"

When I turn to Sam I saw him staring straight into my eyes. I felt a shiver run through my body under his gaze. His expression is blank so I don't know what he is thinking. So I just do what I do the best. I smile and stretch out my hand to wish him.

"Sam..." I started but I couldn't complete because now I am in the warmth of an embrace. What?? I am in the arms of Sam Williams!! I didn't even have time to process how and what is happening. One moment I was 5 feet away from him and the next I realize he is holding me tightly in his arms. I mean this is not a normal friendly hug. But still I am enjoying his warmth. He smells so...delicious! Before I could process my thoughts further he pulled away he kissed my forehead and looked down in my eyes. He is so near to me I can't ignore but see his green eyes has turned a shade darker and it's full of...passion. His lips curl up ever slowly forming a smile

"Katie, I'll see you around" he whispered, his hot breathe touching my cheeks and just like that he's gone!! He left me with my mind to process what just happened. What the hell just happened?! I don't know what happened but I am sure something happened. Something I am going to cherish for the rest of my life. With this I smile brightly and look around only to find three pairs of eyes piercing through me. I can't help but blush.

"Wow.....that was...." Ryan starts.

"......quite a......." Jeremy continues.

"....moment!" Jack completes it.

I threw up my hands in defense and try to hide my red face "Stop it guys!" I pretend to be annoyed.

They all burst out laughing. "Look someone's blushing" Jeremy teased and I can't help but blush even more. After some moments of fun Ryan and Jeremy left. Now it's only me and Jack. I am avoiding his eyes as far as I can. He nudged me with his shoulder but still I am refusing to look up. He nudged me again. O! To hell with it. I mean it's not like I can avoid him forever. I look up only to find him grinning.

"What?" I asked as if I didn't know.

"Looks like someone's got a secret admirer" he grins and I smack his arm. "Looks like your crush is not one sided Kay" he teased me.

"Believe me it is one sided Jack. And will you already stop it" I reply.

"Ok. I'll stop. But you know what, I think Sam secretly likes you" he said matter-of-factly.

"Yeah you do realize that you are talking about the Sam Williams, who girls would die to be his! Why would he leave all the models and smarts and like me a 'Tomboy'?"

"First you are not a 'tomboy'. You dress like a boy but you act like a girl. There's big difference in that. Secondly any boy would kill to own your smile. Thirdly you are the most lovable person alive on this planet..." he begins.

I cut him off "Hey there's already too much hyperbole. Stop it" I giggle.

"But you do know that what I said is true, right?" he asked.
