〝 im not finna beg you for nothing ki'eli "
⇝ 𝗻𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲"i knew that was you outside, eli."
ki'eli's head quickly whipped over to the archway seeing jack leaning against it.
a chuckle abruptly passed by her lips, "i have a feeling this aint gon end well." jack tilted his head at her response taking in that she wasnt in a sober state of mind.
"i was comin in here to call somebody," he said raising his phone to her sight.
ki'eli looked away and towards the chandelier above her head. she heard jack's phone dialing someone and she let out a low sigh rubbing her lips together.
"hey, i just got here—" she tuned his voice out getting lost in her own thoughts that had been scattered due to her drinking. suddenly remembering the occurrence at her own party.
though she wanted to start yelling at him all she could do was close her eyes and sway to the music.
"say that i care for you but im out of time." she quietly sang along forgetting about his presence.
all the anger and rage she assumed she'd feel by his presence out the window, in fact she felt at peace. then again she could only assume it was from the alcohol in her system.
maybe if she was in the right state her thoughts could form all in one to scold him not just for gifting her at her party, but for the way he treated her.
maybe she would be able to get off the table and push him out the room so she could be alone. yet for some reason she couldnt.
all she could do was sing along and drum her acrylics on the cold dark wood she resided on.
then finally she could hear him say bye and get off the phone. she turned to look at him but quickly looked back down when she noticed he was already looking at her.
"the waiter told me you left right before i showed up." ki'eli softly chuckled shaking her head.
"didnt think you'd show up." a slight slur over her words prominent. jack begin to slowly take a few steps over to her. he knew it had been almost ages since they were in the same room together, alone.
the last time it did, around a year ago resulted in an argument about his past actions.
"im not the same person." he blatantly said and a belt of laughter erupted from her lips along with a sign soon following after it.
in attempt to calm herself down a small snort escaped, "yeah, okay." her eyes rolled as he had now been leaning on the table beside her.
"whatever ki'eli." she took a deep breath relaxing herself and toyed with the material of her clutch, "but whatever you had to say to me last night, gon head and say it now."
her movements paused and her mind began to race in attempt to puzzle the pieces together in wonder why she wanted to meet last night, then some piece of memory formed in her head,
"i wanted you to know you nearly ruined my birthday for me." "those werent my intentions, eli."
her eyes met with his and for the small amount of sobriety she had left in her, it saved her from practically melting into him and falling for his tactics again.
jack's dark blue orbs searching hers, yet she couldnt see behind his. something she once mastered doing being taken away from her quickly.
"you never had good intentions for me, jack." she was able to spit out and his thick brows furrowed. "the car is.. gorgeous, but the intentions behind it aren't,"
she was proud of herself for being able to get as much out as she was getting out and all he could do was shrug and say, "okay."
ki'eli scowled at him knowing she hated whenever he did that, a laugh erupting from his throat. "im not finna beg you for nothing, ki'eli, either you fuck with it or you don't."
she couldnt help but admit she wasn't expecting anything less out of him and his nonchalant attitude towards her but she still didn't like his response.
"chris got you fuckin skates, a car not gon hurt you, thats all i'm sayin."
"wait till im fuckin sober nigga." she merely threatened him pushing her finger off the side of his head.
then it clicked like a lightbulb in her head, "wait but, how you know chris got me skates?"
his lips hung agape about to answer her question before they both heard heels clicking against the marble floor, solana rushing in and grabbing ki'eli's wrist yanking her off the table.
she sent a scowl towards him, "i left for five fucking minutes and the one thing i didn't want to happen, happens. you got no business speaking to her, especially when she's drunk." she pointed in his face scolding him.
jack let out a heavy huff looking away from the two girls, "damn lana, you her babysitter or something?"
"no but i was there for the entire duration of you treating her like she was yo personal punching bag, im not about to let it happen again jackman. stay yo grimy ass away from her."
ki'eli could only watch the exchange of words between solana and jack. "but you was gon let her see me last night though?" "i dont control the things she do and she was fucking sober, nigga!"
it was understandable she acted this way witnessing the downfall of the two and the way he sabotaged her career, she wanted nothing but the best for ki'eli.
"when you get sober, call me ki'eli, so we can finish our conversation." he said walking off as she slowly nodded and solana stared at him in disgust.
she waited till he left the room to face the girl, a look of disappointment overshadowing her face and ki'eli could read it clear as day.
"i pray you dont let him screw you over again."
