              "where's your head at ki'eli?"

fingers snapped in ki'eli's face while she stared at the black rose bouquet infront of her. her chin resting on her hand as she had been leaned against the island.

four months had passed. four months of success, four months of power over her own music, and four months of control over her mentality and emotions.

she was blowing up, becoming one of the youngest up and coming female black artist around.

more than anything she was beginning to feed off the fame, recently released from her label and had rights to her own music and what she wanted to drop. at this point the things she did were relentless and all feeding her ego and fame, and she loved every ounce of it.

after what she had been put through she knew she deserved every last bit of it and had no regrets or setbacks mentally about it.

ki'eli had been on cloud nine, drowning gracefully in her well deserved fame.

recently being nominated for an award, peoples congratulations flooded and surrounded her, even from people she's never expect it from.

somehow she had proved everyone wrong without even trying.

now she had been leaned against her counter staring at two beautiful bouquets of black and red roses, both received in forty eight hours at the exact same time on two different days.

     four fifteen pm.

    one red, and one black.

she bit the inside of her cheek yet again tuning everything out and staring at the black bouquet. this one different than any other rose bouquet she had ever seen.

in fact some of them weren't even in full bloom, and a few of the petals were beginning to dry out. yet the red roses were perfectly intact.

       she wasn't stupid though,

everyone knew that black roses symbolized death, hatred, and negativity. yet, ki'eli being ki'eli she tried to assume it was along the lines of rebirth, or maybe the person sending them didn't know they had a significant negative meaning to them.
