still in her attire from the event earlier, she opened her car door stepping out.

instantly it was as if a switch connected to her vocal cords had been shut off with the way she kept her silence.

listening to the sway of the ocean and the waves rushing on shore she slowly approached him with no expression on her face.

her heels clicked on the pavement and her hands had locked within each other.

she watched as his eyes examined almost every inch of her and even letting out a soft breath at the sight of her.

the pair stood in silence for a moment before jack had the realization that she had no intentions on speaking.

so he cleared his throat and had started to talk, "you look like an angel, ki'eli,"

the memories of that being his designated nickname for her resurfacing as she slowly tilted her head at him.

"and no angel deserves to be spoken to the way that i've spoken to you."

she swayed her body slowly still latching her fingers together and kept her eye contact with him wanting to see if she could see right through them.

ki'eli had so much to say, but she held back from saying anything she wanted for vulnerability was the last thing she wanted to display infront of him for him to see.

"i contradicted my words terribly when i said nobody cared for you, because that's all i ever knew how to do since i met you."

she lifted her chin up slightly still listening to him and what she didn't know though was that jack couldn't read her the way he normally could.

"and i also don't think this friend title we had was ever meant for us, either." he blatantly admitted and she couldn't agree more but still showed no reaction to what he was saying.

ki'eli's chest rose and fell softly as she bit the inside of her cheek. masking her emotions being something she developed through the hate of the internet to the point where if she became emotionally unavailable it would be a struggle for to feel emotions again.

as he said these words to her, she could barely feel them through.

"that's all i really wanted to say." jack mumbled knowing he wasn't getting anywhere with her.
