      what if she gave in?

what would happen if she fed into his egotistical ways? would he take the initiative to leave her alone for good, or what? what would happen to her?

it was a question that kept her on her toes, a question that kept her away from him.

the photos of mari didn't phase her, oddly enough. yet, her face had still showed confusion and that led him to the idea that she was hurt by it, in other simpler terms, vulnerable.

that's his favorite state to see her and that's why he did what he did and he fed off of it like a drug.

and because he fed off of hers, he never showed signs of being vulnerable.

maybe when they once or twice in the production of their song, and another time in the restaurant when he apologized, but those were the only times he showed it since prior to their official break up years ago.

this guiding her back to wondering, what would happen if she gave in?

would jack become vulnerable?

the pair sat in his hotel room together and he gave her her space, assuming the cheating allegations had devastated her when in reality they didn't.

all the space gave her was time to think of what would happen between her and him if she simply gave in, her mind not even retorting to mari in any shape or form.

she's ducked and dodged him for so long that all she could do was find out what happens if she just gave in.

not in the sense of making a song with him, in which she's already done, or spontaneously kissing him, which she's also already done, but feeding into his ego instead of trying to deteriorate it.

it was a tough call but she knew once she had her mind set on it, there was no backing out.

her phone vibrated repeatedly beside her as she laid on the bed looking out the large glass balcony doors that had displayed the cloudy skies perfectly with the moon peaking from behind them every now and then.
