"i know that you don't care, but can we get realistic right quick?"
ki'eli hummed whilst she reached over grabbing one of the chicken dumplings they ordered and taking a bite of it, not paying attention.
"im going to be straight forward, real transparent—" jack paused leaning forward and extending his arm over the table and holding out his pinky towards her, "—promise you won't stab me or choke me."
ki'eli's lips thinned out the promise he had proposed, "i cant make any promises.." "please?"
she groaned and reached over locking intertwining their pinky's together. she pulled him towards her and kissed the back of her pinky to lock the promise in.
"i think that you're turning into me, and i don't want that for you."
she rolled her eyes and relaxed in her seat leaning back. ki'eli knew some form of this was true, but it wasn't intentional.
she just wanted to understand him more.
"you don't even like me as an individual," "i tolerate you." "that doesn't mean you like me, though." ki'eli tilted her head at him now folding her arms on why he had been trying to read her.
jack mocked her exact position even raising one of his eyebrows at her. "dont get me wrong, it looks good on you, but i don't want you to lose your friends."
if only he knew some part of this was their idea.
"since when did you care about me and my friendships?" she asked breaking eye contact and eating the rest of the dumpling she had taken a bite of.
"it's not just about that.." he adjusted himself in his seat and leaned forward a little.
"i don't want you to lose yourself in trying to get back at me."
ki'eli's brows furrowed clearly confused, but she couldn't say anything for the food she had in her mouth. all she could think of was how her cover had been blown yet again, but she had to play it off.
so she started laughing and covered her mouth looking away from him and around the restaurant they had been at.
"jesus jack, get your head out of your ass for five seconds! not everything i do is about you."
