Ruby lived on the other side of town, but closer to the club at least. It took almost 20 minutes to get to her first destination of the evening. The car arrived at Ruby's apartment building, and obviously it looked a lot nicer than her own. As she walked up to the entryway Laurel was overcome by a sudden wave of dread.
What if these girls are super conservative? Will she be slut shamed if she wants to pick up tonight? They had joked about going on the prowl tonight so maybe they were more liberal? Oh god maybe this was a terrible idea, it would really suck to be labeled a slut at her workplace. Nibbling on her lower lip nervously Laurel did her best to tuck the insecure thoughts back into a dark corner of her mind where they belonged. She would keep her kinks well hidden tonight, she wouldn't drink too much so she could stay in control and she would only seek a bed partner if she felt safe that these women wouldn't judge her for needing some human contact.
Resolute in her plan of attack for the girls' night, Laurel punched in the numbers for Ruby's apartment and waited to be buzzed in. The harsh buzz of the door alarm alerted her that the doors unlocked and she slipped inside the building. The entryway was tastefully decorated and bright. Clean rugs lined the vestibule and down the hallway, some lush looking plants were in planters on either side of the main door. It was a fairly welcoming environment, helping to settle her nerves. She made her way to the stairs and went up the two flights to Ruby's floor, checking the signs she turned down the hallway that would lead to her hopefully-soon-to-be-friends place.
As she walked down the hallway the bright tinkling sound of women laughing together and glasses clinking together got louder until she was right outside the door. Laurel knocked and the door swiftly swung open revealing to Laurel that she was the last one to arrive. Ruby threw a megawatt smile at Laurel and ushered her inside. Melody and Delia were sitting together comfortably on chairs by the kitchen bar counter, while Rena and a woman who had to be her wife Minnie sat together on the couch, leaning into each other. Rena's hand possessively on Minnie's leg as everyone looked towards Laurel as she walked in.
"What's your poison of choice?" Ruby asked like the consummate host she was, "We literally have almost anything you could want, I sent Mark to the store to restock the bar before I kicked him out to hang out with his friend down the hall".
From context Laurel was able to figure out that Mark must be Ruby's boyfriend, and looking around the room she saw several pictures of the very attractive couple. Who judging by the pictures were painfully devoted to each other and big on world travel. A twinge of jealousy flashed through Laurel, but she didn't give into it and instead decided to start drowning out her problems. "I would love some red wine if you happen to have some opened? I don't want to be a bother"
"Oh no bother at all, but you might need to race Minnie to get more than one glass out of the bottle" Rena called out from the couch with a laugh as she playfully turned to kiss her wife, who was holding a stemless glass that was generously filled with red wine already.
Laurel laughed, feeling more at ease, everyone seemed pretty laid back so far, Minnie and Rena were heavy with the public displays of affection and touching each other, everyone was drinking and already looking a little flushed as the alcohol warmed them up. All excellent signs that maybe these girls wouldn't be uptight over Laurel's insatiable sexuality.
Ruby came up behind Laurel and gave her ass a swift, firm swat on her bottom as she handed over another stemless wine glass which was more than generously poured. Hmm Ruby was trying to get her drunk before they went out and was already getting cheeky. Laurel's hopes soared that she would be able to be herself around this group without fear of getting slutshamed.
Laurel went over to a comfortable looking wing chair in between the couch with Rena and Minnie and the bar with Delia and Melody. Ruby took the chair beside her, and everyone lounged comfortably, enjoying their drinks and each other's company.
