Shit. Fuck. Shit.

How in the goddess name did all this happen. Just this morning I awoke warm, well fed, in bed with all my loves and family and now I was in hell. I thought back on yesterday with regret, I hadn’t claimed Sky. I should have. I knew what I felt for the man, my wolf knew it, but my own head was holding us back. Now I watched Sky run into danger, and knew I might have missed my chance forever.

The hydra that had come up from nowhere, and without warning called forth a cyclone making the wind wild as it tore through our camp, flinging anything unsecured into the air. Sky had run off at the first sight of the Sunless, he was now trapped as demons flooded around our barely established base. Sky had gathered almost a third of our forces as well as the spirit mounted fire fae before we were separated. to the goddess above I pray that he has enough to stay safe. Christ don't let anything happen to Laurel's first mate.

Unable to use anymore time thinking of Sky, I turned back to my gathered family. Laurel and Auris had sat down on the ground inside a five pointed star marked with salt. Dragon flames burning at each point. Hyacinth and other fire fae were standing guard in a wide circle around them swords drawn at the ready, while the rest of our army worked to try and gain some advantage over the demons that kept pouring out from dimensional rips.

Sweet Delia, was a weapon of mass destruction, pulling stone from underneath the scrambling demons and using it to crush them afterwards. Her hair flew around her head in a wild tangle, as the rain made her clothes cling to her skin, the smell of magic heavy in the air.

The magic wasn't just from Delia, Auris and Laurel were filled to the brim with it, glowing brightly as they chanted in unison something in a language I didn't know, working to summon Erebus here to end the deity.

It took all I had not to cower as I thought about our plan that wasn't a plan. Delia, the fire fae and myself just had to keep the demons back while our two strongest magic users did the impossible and tried to make a God submit to their will. Already it was working, thin oily tendrils of inky black mist were starting to gather around us, drawn into the enchanted box laurel had produced from somewhere out of the air. I could feel the evil in the air, felt it brush against me, looking to gain purchase in my mind, to taint me against my family.

I had been collared once, I wasn't going to let any God or demon have a second chance to bind me. Delia was a force of nature, sweat beading on her brow as she wrought destruction on our enemies. She was still moving and heaving the earth with one hand, the other was willing tangles of brambles to rise from dormant roots under our feet, creating balls of wood and thorns the size of city busses before she would shift the earth sending the balls careening towards the demon army while the fire fae set them ablaze.

Laurel was channeling so much magic now the hair on my arms was standing on end. I had spent too much time admiring my women that I hadn't noticed the dragons had joined the fight. Flying overhead, breathing fire on our ranks and dropping demon assassins down closer to Laurel. I pivoted just in time to avoid a heavy black metal hellfire forged sword removing my head from my neck. I moved gracefully from my defensive pivot to a powerful offensive strike. Taking down the demon before they even knew they had missed me.

"Watch the skies" I yelled, hoping the fire fae heard me, "enemies coming from above!" I looked up just in time to see a formation of dragons drop dozens more demons well inside our ranks. Now some of the screaming was from our allies as the enemy gained footholds in our camp.

Laurel, Auris and Delia were showing signs of the tremendous power they were using. Laurel was maintaining protection spells, summoning, binding and lending her strength to Delia and the Fire fae. She was being pulled in too many directions. I could feel her, deep inside a magical tsunami.
