The school day was over in the blink of an eye. I had to visit the teachers' office to pick up some books that I had missed out on, which was why the hallway was now empty. I took my phone out of my pocket and plugged in my earphones. After a few clicks I was listening to the song that's been in my head for a few days now. IU's Ending Scene.
I hummed the first verse and started softly singing on the second, when I made sure nobody was around.
"Make sure you eat well, because it'll all pass
You'll be able to sleep well like you did before
I will sincerely pray for you
You deserve to be happy.
Please don't say that,
You know it hurts more when to hear that
You told me you'll love me, what is this?
You will never know what feelings you caused me to feel."
Being too engrossed in the song, I didn't even realize that there were actually a few people walking behind me, until I felt a little tap on my shoulder. I turned around, surprised and completely red-faced. I couldn't really look at them in the face. They heard me singing..!
Taking off an earbud, I managed to mumble a "Sorry" while quickly glancing up at the three of them.
"What for?" A guy with gray hair asked, smiling.
"I was probably being too loud, sorry for hurting your ears..." I replied, with flushed cheeks, avoiding eye contact with him.
"Oh no! We really liked your singing!" The girl next to him said. "I'm Arai Yoshiko by the way. If you haven't joined a club yet, you should join ours! We would really like another vocal to join Matsui-san over here." She points to the red-head beside her, who nodded at me.
"We have a booth set up downstairs if you wanna swing by to check it out later. I'm Sugawara Ren by the way!" He smiled.
Sugawara? Sounds familiar... He kind of looks like that guy from Haikyuu but not quite hah.
"Um... Sure, I'll check your booth later maybe..." I said, while mentally screaming at myself for singing out loud. I'm not even that great at singing, I think I'm pretty average... Some times, even bad.
"See ya then" The red-head finally said. Matsui, I think?
And there, the three left my sights just as fast as they appeared. There's no way I can actually sing in front of more people... I've never really sung for anyone before. I remember my brother even making fun of me when I was singing at home.
I sighed, and made my way to the hall. Let's see what other choices I have first...
I was greeted by an overwhelming amount of booths when I entered the hall. "Judo... Basketball... Art... Soccer... Photography... Drama... Orchestra... Band... Tennis... Swimming..." I mumbled, reading each of the signs I spot.
"What about volleyball?" A girl with reddish brown hair suddenly appeared in front of me with a wide grin, which startled me. She giggled, watching my reaction.
