After waiting in line for what felt like hours, we managed to finally enter the amusement park. We rode a couple rides before I started to feel dizzy. Akaashi has been unusually sticky to me today too, as in, he would take every opportunity to take my hand. I kinda felt like I was a little kid and he was making sure I wouldn't get lost or something...
"Sera's looking a little dizzy, I'm gonna take her with me to chill for a bit." Akaashi announced to the other three, who just looked at me for confirmation. I nodded, slightly embarrassed that I felt sick only after two rides.
"Ooookay, we're gonna go on that ride then come back and find you guys." Arai points to the terrifyingly high ride, with a big grin. Thank god I won't have to go on that. The three went off, joining the massive line.
Akaashi tugged at my hand, gesturing for me to walk with him. He stopped right in front of a boba stall. "Could I get a brown sugar milk tea and a wintermelon green tea please." He says, slowly removing his hand from mine to pull his wallet out. These were the same drinks we'd order every time we get boba. And somewhere in my heart, I really appreciated that he'd remember what I liked ever since the first time we got boba.
We got our drinks and sat at a nearby bench, sitting side by side. "You feeling okay?" He asked, sipping on his milk tea.
I stuck a straw into mine, before replying, "Yeah I think I'll be fine after a few more minutes. Thanks for buying me this, Keiji."
"Anytime." He gave a small smile and patted my head gently, careful not to mess up my hair.
We sat in a comfortable silence while sipping on our drinks. Since Akaashi and I were both more of the quiet type, there were a lot of times that we were just sitting in silence. But we'd never feel pressured to say anything. At least from my point of view. Sometimes words don't have to exchanged. Even though we would sit in silence, we really appreciated each other's company. Just his presence was enough for me, I don't need the small talk and neither does he. But there are times that we would go on for hours, talking about nothing at all. In either case, I was just happy he was by my side. And I think... He might feel the same too.
I turn my head to look at his messy black hair, getting blown around by the wind. His eyes were closed, enjoying the cool breeze. "You have a nice jawline..." I said in a whisper.
His eyes flickered open and he turned to face me, looking a tiny bit smug. "Checking me out huh?" He teased.
"Pfft... I'm just stating the obvious." I said as his smile grew wider. "Never mind forget I said anything." I said, a little embarrassed that I'd said something so ballsy.
"Nope, it's already been saved into my brain." He said matter-of-factly as he finished off the last bit of his milk tea.
Before I could retort back, Sugawara, Arai and Matsui approached our bench, taking a seat and placing some takoyaki onto the table to share. We went on a few lighter rides after finishing up the takoyaki.
"So I heard that the culture festival is going to be a competition." Arai said.
