A Goner

Dream POV

The group of explorers formed a circle with their weapons at the ready . To practice before our expedition we decided to get rid of some trespassers trying to steal the treasure from a jungle temple. I unhooked my throwing knives while Y/N shook a small vial.
"What's in there?"
She popped the lid and gulped down a dose. I followed her lead as the liquid burned my mouth.
"It's two against five, so I equaled our strength. Do me a favour, don't use the bond for energy."

I glanced to her.
"That bad huh?"
She shrugged but I knew better.
"Alright then Darling. But don't you dare get hurt. If one of them so much as touches you in this state..."
I offered my hand to her. She took it firmly.
"I'll kill them."

I jumped down in front of the group.
"Good afternoon gentlemen,"
I bowed down respectfully, enjoying the foreplay,
"Ladies. I apologise for this intrusion but it seems you have stumbled into our lands."
I flashed my knives in the hand behind my back and grinned.
"May I escort you out?"

One of the men shot his crossbow at me to which I dodged with ease. Another arrow whizzed past me and tore my coat at the shoulder. A girl started to run to the abandoned building until Y/N jumped down right in front of her.
"Going somewhere honey?"
She purred, also enjoying to play with her food. It was dumb but my heart still skipped a beat to see her like that.

The bigger man slammed his fists down next to me, the ground shaking. I swiped down at him but the other man blocked it. I swerved until I had some more space to move around. I jabbed at the men before throwing my knife. It landed with a chink into the bigger man's shoulder blade. The smaller man rushed up to me faking left and slamming right. It caught me off balance.

Y/N kicked the crossbow out of one of the girl's hands before using the bolt from it to swipe at another man's ankles. My side was bruised for sure and I perhaps had a broken rib.
Not too bad.
"Who sent you?"
The smaller man with the sword demanded. I grinned before twisting and kicking his legs from under him.
"No one. We came for the fun of it."

I whipped around just as the bigger man rammed into me. He jerked to a stop, looked down to his chest which was oozing his precious life source and crumpled to the floor.
"AXEL! NOOO! You monster!"
The man underneath me yelled. I ran my finger over my knife and rolled my eyes.
"Relax fool. You'll see your best friend soon. But first,"
I placed my foot onto his chest and pushed all my weight onto him. He gagged for air.
"You'll watch them all die."

His eyes widened, desperately pleading with me.
"No...please...kill...me...instead..."
I chuckled at his remark, enjoying the view of Y/N fighting three soldiers on her own.
"N-No!"
He yanked me off my feet and brought his sword straight to my neck. The man pushed while I struggled with him.
Shoot.
Without Y/N's power I forgot that I didn't have godlike strength. I could feel the potion wearing off.

"I will make you monsters wave a white flag like the cowards you are!"
He shouted righteously.
I hate people with main character energy.
"The only thing I'll be waving is your decapicated head in front of your weeping mother!"
I replied smashing my feet into him. He fell to the floor and I wasted no time in spilling his blood.

"Get your flea bitten hands off me!"
She shouted behind me. I whipped around and threw two daggers at the man who had his hands around her.
That's. Mine.
The two women lay in blood pools on the ground.The man grinned at me with a missing tooth.
"Hold it right there mate."
He whistled. I halted my stop, the glint of the dagger clear on Y/N's neck.

"You two are feisty, how about we make a deal?"
Y/N's eyes were quite wide with fear and her hands were shaking.
You have to use your magic.
I mouthed to her. She blinked clearly terrified to do it. I spun my last throwing knife on my finger.
"I'm listening."

He opened his mouth just as Y/N spastically glowed gold and elbowed him straight in the stomach. He doubled back and Y/N rolled onto the ground giving me space. I flicked my last knife at the man and it landed straight in his chest.
I knelt next to his shocked face as he wheezed to stay alive, miserably failing.
"I should have told you before but I kill people who touch what's mine. Sorry about that."

He took his final breath and I unlatched my knife. Y/N stumbled toward me, drained from the burst of power.
"Hey. Heyy Darling you're okay. You did so well my love. So so well."
She smiled and lay her head down on my chest.
"I...did...didn't I?"
She whispered,exhausted. I gently patted her head scanning the vine grown temple behind us.

"Kiss me."
She mumbled out tiredly. I choked on my tongue.
"What?"
I looked down at her half lidded eyes and her sleepy smile.
"Believe me I would. But the problem is,"
I leaned down till her very breath warmed my lips,
"If I kiss you I'd never be able to stop."
Her cheeks reddened and her lips fell open slightly.

I pulled back from her and closed my eyes.
Fate. Screw you.
"You're also way too sleepy for me to do anything with. Let's get you to the horses."
I lifted her into my arms.

"You smell like Mango and Rooibos Tea."
I said as the intoxicating smell hit my nose. Her eyes furrowed.
"I like it."
I smiled and kissed the top of her head.
Yup, I'm a goner.
