When Quinn Fabray first woke up after her accident—she thought she was in Heaven. The lights were blinding white and surrounded her completely. And as her vision began to clear, the first thing it focused on was Faye Hastings—and she looked exactly like an angel.

The redhead was holding her hand and suddenly Quinn could feel the warmth, it made her smile. Unknowingly to her, she gripped the hand tighter as a reflex—never wanting to lose the comforting, beautiful warmth that she felt from Faye's presence and touch.

The Hastings girl gasped in shock and stood from her seat, leaning over the blonde to see her eyes squinting due to the light, "Quinn?"

Her voice sounded like velvet and hearing her name fall from the redhead's lips caused the blonde's heart to soothe. Quinn attempted to focus more on the girl, but now she looked even more like an angel. Faye had an illuminating light surrounding her like a halo. The Fabray girl smiled softly, ignoring the cracking of her lips as she whispered peacefully, "Heaven."

Quickly using the other hand to push the nurse call button, the Hastings girl then used that hand to brush some of Quinn's hair away from her face—her right hand still holding the Fabray girl's hand tightly, "Quinn? Can you hear me? How do you feel?"

Blinking harshly, the lights began to grow less harsh against her eyes. The room around them became clearer and the blonde became suddenly aware that she was lying in a hospital bed. Gasping in a horrified breath, the girl tried to sit up—grabbing a hold of things as her breathing quickened. The first thing she noticed was that she couldn't move her legs and that sitting up had become impossible.

Faye shushed the girl softly and cupped her face delicately, "Quinn, Quinn, it's okay, you're okay. I'm right here. I'm right here."

The blonde girl took deep breaths with the redhead and let the warmth of Faye's hands calm her back into reality. Judy Fabray and a handful of nurses suddenly opened the door and immediately were at the teenagers' side. While the nurses worked to ensure that Quinn was alright, her mother stroked her hair, cried, and thanked God for giving her a miracle.

The whole time this was happening, Faye never let go of Quinn's hand. Not even when the news was broken to the girl that she had been paralyzed from the waist down.

What the Hastings girl found odd, however, was the Fabray girl lacked any emotion when she was told. There was briefly shock, but no tears and no questions. Instead, the girl smiled and positively said that she would walk again.

Although the redhead found the optimism inspiring, she also worried that Quinn wasn't allowing herself to fully digest what happened to her. So Faye promised herself that she would stand beside Quinn the whole way—and she would be there whenever it suddenly struck the girl that she had been in a horrible accident.
