Hand in hand, we lay on the grass, on a hill that overlooked the luminous city lights as we gazed up at the sparkling stars that covered the night sky. The argent-silver, crescent moon hung in the sky, glowing and shining brightly, lighting up the darkness of the night. It was mesmerizing.

We sat in a comfortable silence, just enjoying each other's company until he spoke.

"It's a beautiful night, don't you think?"

"yeah," I turned my head to him only to find him already staring at me. His eyes sparkled and they held so much love and adoration that I couldn't help but fall for him even more.

We sat in peace, taking in the beautiful scenery until an ear-piercing sound came from beside me, awakening me from a deep slumber.

I opened my eyes that slowly adjusted to the bright sun rays shining through the curtains and came back to reality.
Of course. It was just another dream.

You see, I've been having these dreams lately, but not just any dreams, they were vivid dreams that almost felt like a fantasy.

I dreamt of a boy, and in these particular dreams, we were together, on a hill  overlooking the city and its bright lights

It was always the same location and view but the events of each dream, however, were different.

Every one of them was different.

We would dance gracefully under the twinkling stars, in each other's arms or I'd sit and listen to his angelic voice that sang for me, but sometimes, we would just simply gaze at the thousands of sparkly lights in the sky, enjoying each others company. It felt like a fairytale.

The boy was enthralling. He was only slightly taller than me. His features were so soft and his jawline was very defined. His tanned skin was beautiful which, despite the darkness, I could still see and his chocolate brown eyes sparkled under the moonlight, making him look so ethereal.

I never knew his name but in no way could I
forget his perfectly sculpted face, even though he was merely a dream.

I groaned, dragging myself out of bed before freshening up and getting ready for work.

I lived a normal boring life. Eat. Sleep, work. Repeat. I worked in a bakery cafe. It was simple yet sweet and quite popular since it had a good reputation. I was a barista and I honestly did enjoy my job.

I arrived on time for once and started working. I was trying my hardest to focus on making drinks and serving customers, but truthfully, I couldn't.

I'd been getting these dreams so frequently that they began to disrupt my actual day to day life. I started to love sleep even more than I already did and that's saying something.

I would hurry home and rush to do everything, just so I could get to sleep faster and see him again.

Yet I knew it was a fantasy and it made my normal life miserable. I wanted to live in my dreams. I wanted to be with him.

Finally, After a long shift, I left work, eager to return to the comforts of my home.
Entering my apartment, I quickly kicked off my shoes and went to wear my pyjamas. I quickly made myself a simple dinner and did my night routine before going to bed.

-

I arrived at the top of the hill and I instantly spotted his figure, laying under the stars as usual.
God, he looked mesmerizing. I thought while approaching him.

Hearing my footsteps, he turned to me and smiled softly. A smile that never failed to make my heart melt.

"Hey." he greeted.

"Hey." I smiled, taking a seat beside him.
Unexpectedly, he stood up, offering me his hand, which I took without hesitation as he swept me gracefully into a dance.

We danced under the starry sky, him twirling me occasionally. It felt ecstatic. After we stopped, we stayed still in each other's embrace, feeling the warmth of one another.

Suddenly, he pulled away. He looked at me with a sad expression evident on his face as he spoke

"I can't be here with you anymore."

My smile dropped. My heart shattered at his words and I felt like my world had collapsed.
"W-why," I asked, voice shaking from fear.

"I'm sorry.. " he said, guilt coating his voice as his eyes looked glossy.

"Please wait for me. We'll meet again soon, I promise" was the last thing he said before his figure faded into the night, leaving me alone on a cold and dark hill.

Waking up, I sat up while tears were streaming down my face and my heart was broken.
Why? Why did he have to leave?

It was stupid since it was merely a dream but for some reason, it had a huge impact on me and I felt like I had lost a piece of my soul. I felt broken

-

A little over a week had gone by and I was miserable. I couldn't focus on anything and it pained me to go to sleep, knowing that he wouldn't be there anymore. I wanted to see him in my dreams again.

-

Another dreary day dawned once again meaning I had to start work. I put on my usual fake smile, making an effort to look polite and formal while trying to stay focused.

I was a few hours into my shift and I was behind the counter, so engrossed in doing something regarding work that I didn't notice the customer that stood in front of me, waiting to order.

He waited patiently for a few moments but after failing to get my attention, he spoke up

"Excuse me, miss."

I immediately halted.
That voice. I thought.

I quickly looked up and I froze. My breath hitched as I stared at him, mouth slightly agape.

Was it him? No, it couldn't be, he was just a dream. But his features were exactly like the boy in the dreams and his voice sounded identical to the one that used to sing for me. He couldn't be mistaken for anyone else.

He softly chuckled, snapping me back into reality and I fixed my posture as he smiled brightly at me, just as if he knew me. I slowly smiled back, still thunderstruck by this whole situation, and then I proceeded to take his order.

I handed him his drink and he thanked me, turning to walk away, but before he could I asked
"What's your name?"

"It's Donghyuck" He smiled.

"Nice to meet you. I'm Y/n" I smiled back.

He hesitated a bit before asking
"Do you want to meet up sometime? Only if you want to of course?"

"Yes." I blurted out without hesitation, making him chuckle.

We exchanged numbers and bid our goodbyes. But as he reached the door, ready to exit, he turned to look at me while I was working and whispered to himself, smiling

"I told you we'd meet again soon."
