Jisung - Rewind pt.2

It was a time turner.
He stood there frozen on the spot, taking everything in.

If it's a time turner then that means... I can go back in time and change the past and save Y/n. Oh my God!  A wave of relief washed over him and devotion struck him. He was going to save her.

A man who had an attire of a waiter broke him out of his thoughts.

"Can I help you, sir?" Jisung flinched at the man's polite yet unexpected speech.

He looked at him for a moment before his eyes darted back to the couple, making the waiter mimic his motions, turning his head towards the two.

He glanced at the waiter when suddenly a thought rushed to his head.

Wait there are two of us... Won't that look suspicious..? He thought for a moment, then he remembered what the writing on the back of the watch said. You must not be seen.

His eyes widened as the realisation suddenly slapped him hard across the face. Shit. He thought.

Panicking, he quickly muttered a "No, I'm alright, thanks" and ran out the door.

Once outside, he let out a breath he didn't even know he was holding as he leaned against a tree.

After recollecting himself, he stood up straight and brought his right hand bearing the watch close to his face.

"I will save you, even if it's the last thing I do." And so he fiddled with the little crown until the same blinding white light emitted from its face, teleporting him to another past day.

He had assumed that he'd end up at the correct time but his assumption was wrong as found himself standing in a shopping centre, or more specifically, the food court.

He scanned around the area for the couple but failed, so he started walking around until finally, he spotted them at a table near the pizza shop.

Hiding behind a wall, he observed with a soft smile on his face as they ate and conversed while laughing and enjoying each other's company. It was as if they were the only two people in the world. Oh, how he missed that.

He shifted his gaze away from the couple and his eyes darted around, looking for any indication of the current date.

Failing to find anything, he quickly yet cautiously moved forwards, being very careful to stay unnoticed.

Eventually, he came across a big tv screen in the middle of the centre which had what he was looking for

December 7th, 2021: 14:26

"December 7th... She passed on March 26th, 2022." He murmured.

Realising he had gone too far back in the past, he fiddled with the crown once again, readjusting it.

The expected white light effused from the watch face and before he knew it, he was in another location.

Scanning his surroundings, He groaned in annoyance as he failed yet again, to return to the right day.

And for the second time that day, He found himself standing in the park. Only this time he was staring at himself sitting alone with a sad and broken look on his face. This time he hadn't gone back far enough.

He watched as the familiar old lady took a seat next to his past self, starting a conversation. After a while, she stood up, ready to leave and that's when he saw her drop the watch.

Then he wondered where she got the watch from and if she was even aware of its abilities.

Shrugging it off, he looked at the accessory and adjusted it for what he hoped to be the last time.

There he stood, outside the convenience store in which Y/n and Jisung were arguing. Finally. He thought.

"He has a fucking girlfriend Jisung! They were for her!"

"Mhm, really convincing" he listened to their arguments, waiting for them to leave.

As if on cue, Y/n stormed out of the shop, Jisung following behind her and that's when he was ready.

"Where are you going now?" Before he even heard Y/n's reply, he sprinted towards the direction that the truck was about to come in.

He only had a few seconds to come up with a plan as he saw it approaching very fast.

He stared at the driver and from what it looked like, he was paying much attention, therefore, he hadn't yet seen Y/n which made him wonder if he even saw her before he hit her the first time.

Without a second to spare, he broke a glass case that held a fire extinguisher and, thankfully, a loud alarm.

He ran to the side of the road and sprayed the extinguisher on the side of the truck while setting off the alarm simultaneously.

The combination of white powder and loud alarm caught the attention of the driver who then noticed Y/n a short distance ahead, making him quickly hit the brakes.

A scream was heard as the truck abruptly stopped in front of the girl whose face resembled one which had just seen a ghost.

Panting, she let out a shaky breath as past Jisung ran towards her and pulled her to the side of the road.

They instinctively embraced each other and Y/n broke down sobbing.

"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry, love." His voice cracked and was barely above a whisper.

"I-It's okay-y."

"I was so scared. I thought I lost you" he held her tightly as she clutched him, afraid to let go.

Eventually, they broke apart, smiling at each other, signs of relief evident on their faces.

Time-traveler Jisung watched from afar, eyes slightly watering as relief and pure happiness washed over him. He did it. He saved her.

He brought the watch up to return to the present day but he hesitated as he didn't know how to and he wouldn't risk turning back time again and getting lost in time.

He was stuck, having no clue what to do until a crazy thought came to his head. It was risky and it could go two ways, but he had to try it.

Taking the watch off, he took a deep breath before throwing it on the ground and smashing it with his shoe.

Gold rays of light emitted from the now broken watch face, lighting up the whole area before successfully bringing him back to the present day.

The two strolled around the busy streets on a warm spring day, occasionally popping into shops along the way.

They were more than grateful that Y/n didn't get into an accident that day and Jisung was so happy that he was able to save her and now she was safe with him.

Y/n suddenly took a detour to a random shop confusing Jisung a bit. Just as he was about to enter, he saw a figure out of the corner of his eye.

He turned his head and saw the same old lady standing not that far away from him. When she felt his gaze on her, she looked at him while bringing her wrist up, gesturing the watch around it.

As she saw his eyebrows furrow in confusion, she laughed and sent a wink his way before disappearing out of thin air and he was left standing there, jaw dropped and eyes widened.

Turns out it was her plan all along.
