Looking at the deck as the port fades away into the fog while the boat sails away to Alaudidaspica, Greg turns to another part of the deck — a bunch of people either talking or spacing out to the sea, It's interesting that it is not a private or an expensive boat, but it's surprising that Uraeus must have landed Fletcher a bunch of rooms, Either because of what happened before, but Uraeus may could have said that despite him looking like a recluse, but it's been quite a long time ago, so he could not remember some of what Uraeus said, specifically the fluff and rubbish that he threw in while the party were discussing how to get to Tarommuniace — so much that Sleepless did try to ask him to shut up about unnecessary things, which Uraeus shrugged it off as "being himself, don't worry about it". It's certainly an excuse just to say non-sequiturs right in the whatever middle of important things anyone would talk about, despite him not doing that before the discussion began.
"Hello," said a man leaning on the rail, "You're going to Alaudidaspica too, aren't you?" He spoke to Greg as he was spacing out, "I'm going there so I can maybe find a job there, how about you?" Greg noticed that he was holding a newspaper, "You're not up to date, aren't you?" The man hands him the newspaper.
Now, on the newspaper, there are several headlines: One of the headlines says that there is a border dispute between the republics of Majuminster and Alaudidaspica, which is surprising considering that they're often referred by the rest of the party like they're towns, but they're actual countries, But anyways the dispute seems to be over the prime minister of Majuminister, named Giuseppe Vercing, saying a part of Alaudidaspica was theirs based on history context that was recently discovered from the archives. Alaudidaspica, however, refused to agree — their parliament said that it is still theirs, and would still be, however, they do not have a head of the state, instead, they do have a council composed of people in theparty of who was elected to make a choice, with the elected leader stepping down before the election. it's an interesting kind of government until an there's an election around in a week or two, and might or not be practical.
Anyways, as not to drag on for too long describing more experimental political systems in fantasy, let's look at another headline, which summed up as: Train stops at Nusquam Ubica without a train controller, only to be stopped by someone with (undefined), a witch and a cat person. The article called it unusual that a train would stop without anyone in it, confusing the passengers until a new train controller was brought in, with the old train controller being presumed missing along with everyone else — the story called it a case of a recocialite attack happening on a train, and it's been the fifth time it happened this year, and it's calling for the government to tackle on the issue. "And now, let's move away from the horrifying news that sell our papers." The end of the article reads, how did this get past the editing? Who knows, maybe the editor found it actually quite funny, although the rest of the newspaper are just boring business and local news.
Greg then gives the newspaper back to the man, "Seems like you took some time to read it, I can assume that you just caught on to the recent news." He says, "Anyways, I think the journey is going to take a few days, I also heard — I don't know the ship's layout, so I can't help on where you're going to go. Especially the canteen, I don't think they do have one, so I think we both may had prepared food." He then walked away from Greg, ignoring him completely, along with his newspaper roll. What does he have to do with Greg? Nothing, he just went to him, asked him some stuff and getting him checked on the news and then left.
Greg then went back to spacing out over the deck, and an hour later, Fletcher went to Greg, and joined him in spacing out for some time, before going back to the quarters, which Greg also went back to sometime later.
Now that he's in his room, with Iaret sharing the top half of the bunk-bed, He gets his bag placed on top of the bottom half of the bunkbed, and gets some food out of the bag: can of spinaches. He asked Iaret if she wants any, but she refused, still grabbing to the pillow — shaking and scared because of her encounter with Uraeus.
Greg then ate the canned spinaches by himself; it tastes quite either good or bad, but it's certainly ambiguous, either way, it can be great for you, as it contains a lot of fiber.
Also, it is finally night time: Greg then turns off the gas lamp, and goes straight to bed, it took him some moments he could be comfortable enough to fall asleep.
Now, in the dream: It's completely white again, per usual, "Tell me, my fellow, do you know that I speak this way because of a contractual obligation?" Said the usual man, "But, anyways, I shall be absent from the usual meetings as you have found a person to help out with the assignment, and remember what you are assigned to: kill- No, not kill, that is such an ugly word, I don't like that, instead, I'll be using remove as replacement, so, remove the unbeliever, but for after what happens, I am unsure of it. Sweet dreams, we shall meet again."
Greg then wakes up, and is surprised to find out that the journey was quite shorter than he expected: it reached its destination within a day, instead of the expected three days; Fletcher was also confused, too, as he explains that most of the times he went there was usually three or two days.
