The next day was Tuesday. I prepared myself for school, tying my dark red hair into a high ponytail and wore some warm clothes.

According to the news, it was going to rain extremely heavy for the entire week.

After getting myself prepared, I got into my car and started my drive to school.

Listening to sad songs on the radio, my 15 minute drive to school felt like an eternity.

"Class. We have a new student. His name is Jonald. He has just moved here from the school down the road. Please make him feel welcome." Mrs. Farquad announced at the start of our History lesson. "Jonald, do you want to introduce yourself?"

"Hi. I'm Jonald. I'm a new student. I've just moved here from the school down the road. Please make me feel welcome." The handsome, red haired boy with pale skin said.

He looked around the room, making eye contact with almost every single student before he reached my eyes.

Jonald's soft smile straightened when he looked at me. It was like his eyes were trying to pierce my soul, like he was shooting daggers, trying to break me.

Mrs. Farquad told him to take a seat, yet as he coolly strutted from the front of the class to the free seat in the middle of the classroom to the left, he never let go of my eyes.

The entire class, Jonald and I kept eye contact. It was like a staring competition, but instead of staring, we had grabbed each others' eyes, and yet we were both winners, lucky enough to have seen each other. We must've only blinked a handful of times the entire 50 minute class, terrified that if we had closed our eyes too long, we would've lost each other.

"Marybethbethbeth. Jonald." Mrs. Farquad said once the school bell rang. "Come here to me."

Jonald and I looked at each other again before weaving our way through our classmates rushing out of the room to our teachers' desk.

"Marybethbethbeth I need you to be Jonald's friend. He's new. Show him around the school, introduce him to all your friends." She says, writing a note. "These are your hall passes. Stick together. Please."

Jonald takes the hall passes from her, and hands one to me.

Our hands accidentally brushed together, sending a shiver up my spine. Electricity ran through us, like sparks in the night sky.

I stood there frozen in place for 24 seconds.

After 24 seconds of being frozen, I unfroze.

"Marybethbethbeth." Jonald says with his deep, sexy voice.

"What did you say?" I ask him, getting my thoughts together.

"Marybethbethbeth." He says again, slightly higher pitched than before.

I look into his deep, dark brown eyes, realizing that his eyes were brown.

"How did you know my name?" I ask, furrowing my perfectly shaped, thick, pointed eyebrows.

Jonald pauses for a second, catching his breath before admitting "The teacher. She said your name."

"Oh." I say.

As we begin walking out of the classroom out into the empty halls, I think about what was asked of me by Mrs. Farquad.

She wants me to be Jonald's friend? Me? I have no friends. I'm brand new to the school as it is. How am I going to introduce him to my friends and help him make other friends, when no one will even talk to me?

"We have the same hair colour. It is red." Jonald says, snapping me out from my stress.

A beautiful girl with dark blonde hair walks out in to the hallway in front of us, coming out of a classroom.
