Chapter 40: their fortieth border

"I have feelings for you." Ni-ki finally did the confession he wanted to do it, since yesterday.

Sunoo finally heard the words he wanted to and expected to. This came to Sunoo's relief, shock yet fright.

"Oh so he confessed." He thought.

"Why didn't you tell me before." Sunoo asked, stepping away from him, all dull and shocked.His sweat dropped with the heart which was palpitating quickly.

"B-because i thought it was not the perfect time and I did not want to ruin it." Ni-ki stuttered.

A wave of sadness hit Sunoo. Even Ni-ki wasn't confident enough to confess. Forget that, his cowardness took over him which couldn't let the elder confess.

"Alright, I'm going. See you in school tomorrow." Ni-ki hurriedly took his phone and rushed. He left by running.

"Wait- i did not tell him." Sunoo just realised. He then groaned in remorse. "I'm such a jerk! What will he think now." He then sighed.

"I have to tell him too. Through this letter." Sunoo said. "Oh wait, I'll tell it on text." He thought.

He immediately goes to the text, horrendous of seeing that Ni-ki has blocked him.

Sunoo got even more frightened seeing that. "Fuck he must've had gotten so embarrassed. What just happened" he kicked the sofa and lied down.

He scrolled more of Insta, to calm down and forget what all just happened.

Sunoo was back at home, running to Jungwon. He cried.

"Why are you crying Sunoo? What happened?" Jungwon worriedly asked.

"I made Ni-ki mad at me." Sunoo whimpered, covering both his eyes with his hands.

"Why? Im sure your date went quiet ecstatic." Jungwon put a hand behind his back, to reassure nothing else will happen.

"Yes it did, but today he confessed to me. I asked him why he did not say before instead of saying I like him back. I was dead scared because I never knew Ni-ki liked me back." Sunoo explained the situation, with eyes watering even more.

Jungwon wiped it with a tissue. "Sunoo you fucking idiot! You even had a letter for him, right? Go send it to him you jerk." He exaggerated.

"I know I am a jerk. But cowardice and trauma took over me that bad." Sunoo said.

"I can understand. Matter of fact, he liked you first! I can tell you that he liked you way before back during last year. I was the first one he told me about. I decided to not tell that to the both of you since I wanted you two to figure it out yourselves." He said.

Sunoo was shivering down his spine. He shook like a leaf. He was in utter shock. This was like the edge of his life.

"Why didn't this all happen before? Now Ni-ki finally left? What about that? What will be my life without him? I loved him so much, for his resemblance to Joonyoung." Sunoo screamt.

"You can still fix things by saying I like you back." Jungwon comforted.

"Thank you Jungwon. Needed a childhood best friend like you. I'll go tell him tomorrow during school. Hope things get resolved." Sunoo sighed and went back to his room, wiping his tears.

The next few days passed, Sunoo noticed that Ni-ki did not show up. This made him extremely anxious. He had blocked everybody so Jungwon and Jay couldn't contact him from his side. This was how much anxiety overcame the younger.

When Ni-ki finally came to school. He showed cold shoulders and ignored Sunoo. He thought of getting over Sunoo because of the way he reacted after the confession. His assumptions got low which told him that Sunoo did not like him back.

Sunoo on the opposite side was back to his phase. The sunshine one. Though he admits it he still likes Ni-ki, he decided to let it be and move on. Everything got awkward. They both distanced themselves,just because they had feelings for each other. It felt peaceful for Sunoo to be back to who he was, the only thing was that he lost faith and hope in telling Ni-ki so he gave up.

Ni-ki talked to Jay later on, asking him to not talk anything about Sunoo. Jay understood because he wanted to keep the friendship.

Both of them knew they still liked each other.

During the school dispersal, Sunoo recollected some memories between him and Ni-ki. He felt nostalgic. He saw the other and went towards him to talk to him, because talking was the only thing that could help to fix the bond between the two.

"Oye babe! Did you forget your boyfriend or something! Come on we still have to do my twelfth wish." Sunoo held his hand and dragged him towards the pavement they always used to walk towards. Ni-ki blankly said.

"Bruh. Since when did you have a twelfth wish, didn't we complete them all and broke up? You don't like me back so."
