LOST

chapter 1

I came out of my school building and heard Tobin calling my name. I turned around and saw him racing down the steps.

"Want a ride?" he asked.

"Nah, I will probably take a walk, just want to clear my head a bit" I said.

"You're still upset about your grades "he asked.

"Well yeah "I said clearly lying.

"Then I will meet you in a bit? "He asked questioningly.

"Yes "I said

And he moved on. I started walking towards my home thinking about my favorite Aunt Jessie. She was the only one in my whole family who understood me, but at the moment she was in jail because she was convicted of a murder. But, she was innocent.My parents did not even want me to meet her because they think it will ruin their reputation. She was given the life sentence yesterday after her hearing and I was much tensed about it.

I came at my place and took a bath in the warm shower, suddenly remembering that it was Max's birthday, my favorite singer. So, I went to my desk top booted up my laptop and tweeted him a birthday message and then sat in my luxurious Volvo coupe and drove to Tobin's.

I knocked at the door. But, nobody answered so I walked in his living room. There were papers all over the floor, all alike. I picked one up and took a glance at it and it was a poster of anti- guns and all of a sudden I remembered Aunt Jessie and how I didn't tell that to Tobin. My thoughts were interrupted by Tobin's younger sister, Anna.

Anna was a suspicious little girl who thought that there was something between me and Tobin.

"Hello! Mavis, what are you doing at our place?" she asked rudely.

"Well I was hoping to meet Tobin" I said.

"Oh you have a crush on him now don't you?" she asked.

"No! For a million times no we are just friends "I said exasperatedly.

"Stop it Anna" Tobin came and said.

"Go out now!" he yelled.

"Hey Mavey Wavy wassup" he smirked.

"Don't call me that" I said.

"Alright alright "he said throwing his hands up.

"You hungry?" he asked me.

"Yes a lot" I said making a pout.

He laughed and went to the kitchen and then yelled over his shoulder to pick out a movie to watch. So I went up to his room and started taking out the movies from the shelf and then I found Titanic. My favorite movie. After sometime Tobin came in with macaroni cheese and handed me my bowl.

"Found anything ?" he asked.

I held up the DVD. He mourned and said that it wasn't fair it was a total piece of crap and I ignored it. Finally we started watching titanic, being the stubborn person I am he agreed to watch it.

After an hour or so I saw Tobin fast asleep. I grinned and went to his bedroom. Took some pillows and blankets and ran down the stairs. I put a pillow under his head and covered him with some blankets, and went to my house.

As I reached my house I pulled up in my drive way and went to my room. I started reading my novel and fell asleep. I woke up with the sound of electric guitars, indicating Dash had reached home. I got out of my bed and went down to the kitchen to get some water.

"MAVIS!" I heard Dad shouting.

"Coming!" I said and realized that I got a C in my English assignment and that he knew that today was the result.

I went up to his study and found him drinking shots.

"Hello Father" I said.

"Today was your result of English assignment right?" he asked.

"Yes "I said and felt the lump forming in my throat.

"Well? What was your result" he asked staring at me.

"I got an A+" I said lying.

He stood up and walked over to me with his drink  still in his hand.

"DON'T LIE TO ME" he yelled.

And pushed me to a chair I yelped and felt a cut on the right side of my eye. Suddenly Dash came in and gave me a hand, helped me to stand up.

"Dad stop it "he said

"Keep your nose out of it" Dad roared and walked out of the study.

Dash helped me to my room and lay me on my bed, wiped the blood from my wound.

"I hate him too" he said suddenly

"I think I will just go to sleep" I said

He gave me a mock salute and went out of the room.
