Meet The Rabbit

Kane POV

We head to the workshop room. Using Oscar's ring we see it jam packed with all kinds of materials and equipment.

Yue: "Sure is a lot of stuff."

I look at Hajime.

Kane: "Something wrong?"

Hajime: "I was just thinking that maybe we should stay here awhile. I wanna get back to the surface. But there's still so many things I need to learn. And if we're going to face other labyrinths then we should be as prepared as possible."

Kane: "I suppose you're right. Last thing we want is to be unprepared for whatever we might face."

Yue: "Let's do it."

*timeskip presented by Hajime and Yue preparing while Kane ponders life's questions*

Just shy of two months Hajime and Yue have finished their preparations. In the two months Hajime has built a new arm and made lots of new inventions. We stand where we found Oscar's body.

Hajime: "We're finally geared up and I've gained all I'll be able to from eating monster meat. After two months I think we're as ready as we're ever gonna be."

Kane: "Before we leave, I have something to say."

They look at me.

Kane: "The weapons and skills we've got will bring a lot of attention. I doubt anyone will be too accepting. And if we're unlucky even the gods might notice. It just might be the whole world wanting to get a piece of us. So promise me you'll be extra careful out there."

Hajime/Yue: "Promise."

Kane: "Enough delay. Let's get this thing rolling."

They smile as the circle under us teleports to the surface. The light subsides revealing a canyon. 

Hajime: "We finally made it."

Voice: "I've been waiting for such a long time! And here you are finally!"

I turn to have my eyes go wide eyed.

Kane: "What the fuck is that?"

Yue: "Looks like a bunny girl."

Hajime: "And why'd she say finally? Has she been expecting us?"

Kane: "I vote we should leave."

Yue: "Agreed."

We begin walking away. 

Bunny: "Don't go, I need your help!"

I drop my elbow sending her into the ground. 

Hajime: "Why would we help a worthless rabbit?"

Again we try to leave. But I'm stopped.

Bunny: "I'm begging you! Please save my family!"

I grit my teeth.

Kane: "Let me go you dumb broad!"

Bunny: "If I let go then you'll walk off leaving me."

Kane: "That's kinda the point."

She falls onto her face.

Bunny: "Shot down."

Kane: "So damn dramatic."

Bunny: *puppy eyes* "Could you really abandon me like that? A beautiful, young damsel in distress?"

Kane: "Yes. And beautiful is the last word I'd use to describe you."

Bunny: "Why must you be so mean?"

The ground rumbles. Looking I see a two headed dinosaur.

Kane: "I thought dinosaurs went extinct."

Hajime: "We're in a fantasy world, remember?"

Kane: "Forgot."

I aim my hand at the dino. A fireball is launched scorching it to ashes.

Hajime: "It's dead. Let's get going."

Bunny: "Please listen. I'm Shea, eldest daughter of the Haulia beast tribe, and I need your help. If you save my family I'll do anything you ask of me. Anything at all."

Kane: "Do you even hear yourself right now?"

Hajime: "Just give up already."

Shea: "I can't. The future of my whole race might be at stake."

Hajime: "You've got ten seconds to explain."

She tells her story lasting all of ten minutes.

Kane: "So your tribe's got a monster problem. But why were you exiled in the first place?"

Shea: "Beastmen aren't supposed to be able to manipulate mana, but for some reason I can. And on top of that I can use a special kind of magic that only monsters use."

Hajime: "Why's it so special?"

Shea: "It's called future sight. I can see possible futures. Like if you make a certain choice, then this is what'll happen. That's actually how I knew I'd meet you. So please, will you help us?"

Hajime: "Say we help you. What do we get in return?"

Shea: "You're heading for the Great Tree in the Haltsina Sea of Trees right? You should know it's surrounded by fog. Fog so thick you'll only get hopelessly lost."

Hajime: "So?"

Shea: "So you'll need someone to guide you. Someone who's a native of the Sea of Trees."

Yue: "She's got a point, let's take her."

Kane: "I'm with Yue. A guide will be a great help."

Hajime: "Fine. Let's just get this over with."
