Kurapika paused at the doorway of the white washed apartment, still unsure.

"Cmon Kurapika just go in already you know I won't let you stay in a hotel." Leorio sighed, pushing the blond into the apartment lightly. Leorio had used his zodiac perks to give Kurapika access to one of the top-end apartments near the association, much to Kurapika's dismay. Leorio silently admired the apartment, knowing he would never be able to afford such a luxurious place without help from the association.

Kurapika stared into space, still not quite used to have such a nice place to temporarily call home.

"I'll help you unpack. Then...I'll be leaving." Leorio stated. In all honesty he hadn't even found a place for himself as he had put Kurapika top priority. Said man turned around to stare at him with a mixture of surprise and.. A hint of what? Sadness?

"You're not saying here?" Kurapika said slightly upset as he had supposed Leorio was going to live with him before they set off for the dark continent. Leorio patted his pockets nervously, looking for keys he knew didn't exist. He looked quite stupid, but (obviously) Kurapika didn't think so.

"There's only one bedroom Kurapika... " Leorio started nervously, unsure of how Kurapika would react.

"Well- yeah but I thought-" Kurapika cut off abruptly, a deep blush painting his cheeks. Leorio frowned at this. Why are his cheeks red? Does he have a fever? Maybe I should check just in case. Leorio closed the distance between them, without thinking to ask Kurapika if this was alright. Kurapika on the other hand only blushed a deeper red at Leorio's close proximity. Damn he was down bad. The trainee doctor put a hand on Kurapika's forehead, which was now well and truly warm enough to pass for a fever.

"That's it. I'm staying." Leorio concluded out loud, worried about Kurapika's current state of 'fever'.

"No- you don't have to. I'm fine re-really." Kurapika stumbled over his words, rambling.

Now Leorio was really worried. This was very out of character for the usually cool-headed blond. His head literally wasn't cool now.

"I have to get my stuff. I'll be back, okay? Don't leave." And with that Leorio left a blushing, mess of a Kurapika in the apartment. He regained his senses and went to unpack what little clothing he had.

...

Kurapika stood at the end of the bed, unsure of what to do. Leorio had come back and brought him medicine, which he plainly refused. Although it took some convincing Leorio finally relented a little since the brief but mysterious fever had disappeared. He still was adamant on staying over and checking up on Kurapika, so now they still had the problem of where to sleep.

Of course they could just share the bed but Kurapika didn't know if his heart could take that and if Leorio would even want that.

His thoughts were interuppted as Leorio bustled in, putting away clothes and other objects as he went. He glanced over at Kurapika, who was still gazing into space at the foot of the bed.

"Do you have any nightclothes?" Leorio asked, suspecting he didn't.

His answer was confirmed when Kurapika replied "No... I didn't really need any when I stayed up all night." Leorio tutted, a frown creasing his features but soon disappearing when he came up with a solution.

"Of course! You can just wear one of my shirts, I'm quite a bit taller then you so they should be long on you." Kurapika froze, another blush rising to his cheeks as he thought about wearing one of Leorio's shirts.

Leorio was too preoccupied with finding a suitable shirt to notice this though. Leorio searched a little more in his jumble of clothes before finding one he deemed fit for Kurapika. "Here!" He held up a plain white shirt "put this on and then we'll talk sleeping arrangements."

Kurapika was too flustered to reply or refuse so instead he accepted the shirt and trudged off to the bathroom to change.

Leorio pulled the blinds down on the windows, blocking up the dark skyline behind them. A bright crescent moon shone in the sky, with only a few stars able to be seen because of the city pollution. Both cars and people flew by on the streets below, beeping and pushing at each other. Leorio sighed and turned, thinking about his younger friends so many miles away.

At least he had his sunshine with him. As if on cue Kurapika waltzed in, or more accurately, awkwardly shuffled in. The long shirt reached up to his mid thighs, leaving (in Leorio's well-versed opinion) little to the imagination.

"Welcome back sunshine." Leorio said staring at Kurapika with growing fondness. Leorio cleared his throat, attempting to break the silence that had fallen as the two stared at each other.

"We- we should be getting to bed." Kurapika stammered, still nervous of the thought of him and Leorio in bed together.

"Yeah.." Leorio replied, noticing how Kurapika wrung his hands on the hem of the shirt.

"If you want, I can go sleep in the living room." Leorio offered, seeing how uncomfortable Kurapika looked.

"No!" he cleared his throat "I mean no, I would feel bad if I made you sleep out there."

Leorio smiled in acceptance and climber into the large bed, facing Kurapika's side. Kurapika followed suit, climbing in and shuffling as far away from Leorio as he could. Leorio noticed and said nothing, a little saddened by this action.

"Goodnight Leorio," Kurapika whispered.

"Goodnight sunshine."

Kurapika only now realised how much he missed that.
...

During the night, long after Kurapika had fallen asleep Leorio lay awake, listening to the sound of the other's soft snores. He glanced at the dark bundle that was Kurapika, the moonlight illuminating his bright blond hair which was a great contrast to the darkness around him. Kurapika was shaking. Was he awake? No, he was shivering. Leorio didn't think it was too cold tonight but knew that Kurapika felt the cold more then others. Leorio moved his half-asleep arms and wrapped them around Kurapika, briefly wondering what Kurapika would think about this in the morning but quickly forgetting as he drifted into a long, deep sleep without the sad dreams that usually purged him.
