"Hey Kurapika! We're meeting up with Mei lo today so get ready to leave." Leorio called from the bedroom. Kurapika just rolled his eyes and sipped his coffee bitterly. He was sulking. Mei lo this. Mei lo that. Why was it all about her? Kurapika had fallen into a pit of jealousy and he didn't know why. What was it about Mei lo that he didn't have. Was it her long flowing hair? Her naturally long eyelashes? Her being female? Well that wasn't definitely something he didn't have. He could grow his hair out. He could- wait.

Why did he care what Leorio liked? It didn't matter to him....

Leorio entered the bright room to see Kurapika staring at his coffee like it had murdered his entire family or something. Oh.. Probably shouldn't say that.

"Uh.. Kurapika? I said we should get ready."

Kurapika jumped to attention, spilling his coffee all over the counter. His addiction to coffee was almost as strong as his jealousy. Coffee was especially helpful when you had stayed up for 2 days straight looking for leads on your clan's eyes. (Which he knew from previous experience)

"Oh damn.. Sorry."

"You don't need to apologise," Leorio chuckled "this is your apartment after all."

Might as well be both of ours. Kurapika pondered saltily. He could never say that though, of course.

"We're going to meet Mei lo for breakfast in the park."

Kurapika's head snapped up at the mention of Mei lo again, a snarl prominent on his features. He quickly relaxed his face when he realised he was on the verge of literally growling. He disliked Mei lo, but this was on a whole new level. Leorio watched this with an intermediate level of concern. Kurapika looked like he was going through the five stages of grief. Denial, anger.... He couldn't remember anymore. But that was besides the point.

"Uh.. You okay sunshine?"
Kurapika blushed and mumbled something incoherent before escaping to his room to get dressed. Leorio rubbed his head in confusion. Was it something he said?

...

The sun shined brightly on the swaying branches of the trees, swathes of cloud drifting lazily across the sky. A clear lake sparkled in the sunlight, many coloured fish darting just underneath the surface.

Kurapika wanted to push Mei lo in. After arriving at the park, the pair had decided on croissants for breakfast. Soon after they met Mei lo who had apparently been waiting for them, but had already got her breakfast because she was so perfect.

Kurapika had realised something these past few days, especially after meeting Mei lo. He liked Leorio. As in had a crush on him. He had never had a crush before and had no idea whatsoever how to deal with it. Maybe that was why his jealousy had spiralled so much. Kurapika dragged his feet. He was currently walking behind Mei lo and Leorio who were in conversation, Mei lo letting out a pretty laugh every few minutes and Leorio cracking a smile.

Mei lo gracefully flipped her hair behind her shoulder. Kurapika mimicked this, muttering angrily under his breath. He trudged along a few more steps before bumping into something hard, but strangely human-like. He looked up into the eyes of Leorio, then at Mei lo, then back to Leorio.

"S-sorry I...I didn't realise you had stopped." Kurapika blushed in embarrassment, staring down at his feet.

"No, I'm sorry" Mei lo smiled apologetically "I wasn't including you in our conversation. I really don't want to get in between you two."

Kurapika's face quickly turned to red and he stared at the ground, but Leorio just looked confused at his reaction. For someone who dated around so much, he was really dense about relationships. Kurapika glanced at Mei lo. How could he hate her? She was such an angel. Even saying she didn't want to get in-between him and Leorio's relationship.
