Burn Beyond Control

Missing

As my body hit the water I gasped and gulped in water. I started swimming to the surface and gasped spitting out the water. I let the air come into my lungs, burning like hell as they took in the crisp air. Looking up at the cliffs edge, I saw him standing there.
Turning, I started to swim fast. I didn't even turn to look back, I just kept swimming. My body ached everywhere as I reached a beach. Crawling out of the water, I laid on my back letting the water hit my legs. I have never felt anything so painful in my life than the way my muscles feel right now. I bet if they could talk, they'd be cussing me out. I took a deep breath and managed to get to my feet. I stumbled and fell and ended up hurting my knee.
Wincing, I looked down. There was the smallest shell sticking out of my skin on my knee. No way, this now? What else could happen? I groaned as I pulled it out of my knee. Now where to go from here? People are looking for me. People want to kill me. The water might have helped my scent if they had dogs.
I looked around trying to figure put where I was. I know I'm still in Australia, I just don't know what part. Getting back to my feet, I took a breath as every bone and muscle in my body burned in protest. I noticed woods of some sort to my left. I limped my way through the woods til I couldn't see the beach anymore. Praying no one would find me for the rest of the night. I looked for somewhere to rest for awhile.
I propped up against a tree, looking and hoping for a cave. I winced as I limped over to a tree that was surrounded by bushes. I pushed some of it out of the way and lay down. There was absolutely no way I could go on. I let the darkness close around my eyes, I faded into a deep sleep.

Zhan's POV

SHIT! SHIT! I paced across the cliff watching her swim away in fear of me. She found the pictures The Elders gave to me to find her. I could feel the pain of her running away from me in fear. Like I was a monster. You are a monster! Go find her! I raced back to the house and threw on some clothes and grabbed the car keys. Gassing it I tried to find any sign of her.
Adien is going to kill me! Shit! I hissed in my head, missing the car that came out of no where. Got to find her. Must find her. Save her! I bit my lip, watching for any sign of her anywhere.
