lockdown

you were walking in the hallway on your way to the bathroom when your school announced a lockdown drill.

you turned to walk into the nearest empty room instead of continuing your walk to the bathroom as you still had some ways to go.

you saw someone start to close the door but told them to hold it.

you walked inside the empty dark classroom and looked around the room for the girl who just held open the door for you.

you looked down to find olivia rodrigo on the floor sitting down on her phone.

"thanks." you breathed out sitting down next to her. she didn't say anything, she just nodded.

you didn't really know olivia well, just rumors of the girl, and of course her coming out. it was kind of a big thing that everyone talked about for months.

"so... i heard you came out." you blurted out, immediately mentally slapping yourself in the face.

she paused from what she was doing on her phone and gave you a rather dirty look.

"um yeah..." she said almost uncertain.

you panicked, "no uh don't worry im not gonna like shit on you or anything, i just thought it was like really brave and... stuff." you said stumbling over your words here and there.

she chuckled, "thank you?" she questioned. you only smiled awkward and looked away.

you checked the time, wondering what on earth was taking so long with this drill, when in reality it had only been 5 minutes.

you let out a sigh making olivia look at you. she eyed you up and down before looking away.

"this drill sure is long." you said trying to break the silence just a little.

"yeah..." she said turning off her phone and putting it in her pocket. "we should play a game or something, you know...to pass some time." she said getting up.

"okay..." you said elongating the word as you got up as well. "like what?" you asked.

"i don't know," she shrugged. "truth or dare?" she asked.

"what are we 5th graders?" you said making a face at her.

"okay it's that or we sit in silence and it seems like this drill isn't ending anytime soon." she said crossing her arms.

"okay, okay, no need to get defensive." you chuckled.

"that's what i thought, now pick, truth or dare." she said.

you thought for a moment before deciding.

"truth." you said confidently.

"ugh you're so boring y/l/n" she said rolling her eyes.

you stopped for a moment, you didn't realize she knew who you were, i mean yeah you've been in a couple of classes together but you didn't expect her to actually know you. not to mention how dark the room was, and the only source of light was a slightly opened window.

"first off, rude. secondly, you know who i am?" you asked.

"y/n, we were lab partners like freshman year..." she stated raising her eyebrow.

"oh yeah... i just assumed you forgot about me or something." you laughed awkwardly.

"yeah, yeah, okay now let's get back to the game, you picked dare right?" she asked knowing you had picked truth.

"no i picked truth..."

"well... i say you picked dare, so dare it is." she laughed causing you to roll your eyes before agreeing with the suborned girl.

"i dare you to... tell me your biggest secret."

"uh... i don't have one, pick something else." you lied.

"oh don't tell me you're afraid y/l/n." she said in a cocky tone slightly pushing your arm.

"i'm not afraid, i just don't have one." you said sternly and a bit defensively.

"okay, okay" she said putting her hands up in the air before thinking of another dare.

she thought for a while before finally coming up with one, "i dare you to... kiss me." she said jokingly as she laughed.

"what? im not gay." you lied as you eyed her.

"chill y/n i was just joking-"

"okay well that wasn't funny, and i don't want to play anymore." you scoffed turning around and sitting back down against the wall.

"because i made a joke? are you afraid of kissing a girl or something." she laughed walking back towards you, before sitting down and joining you.

"why would i be scared of kissing a girl." you said rolling your eyes.

"i don't know... you tell me y/n" she said before leaning into you a bit, "scared to kiss me?" she smirked before leaning back.

"im not scared to kiss you." you stated.

"then do it." she replied confidently. you looked at her shocked, "kiss me." she whispered into your ear that sent chills down your spine.

your eyes widened as you looked over to the girl. "well, what are you waiting for y/l/n, you gonna kiss me or what." she said in a cocky tone.

you looked at her eyes and back down at her lips, you closed your eyes as you began to lean. she noticed your actions, and she was quite surprised you actually went through with this.

she closed her eyes, and leaned in, placing her right hand on your cheek before your lips connected for a short but sweet kiss.

you opened your eyes and pulled back, "um-" you said frightened and tried to back away.

"what?" she asked as she watched you get up from the ground. you didn't respond, you just walked towards the window and looked out of it.

she got up and joined you at the window, "are you okay?" she whispered, afraid to speak too loud.

"yeah." you breathed out, before turning to look at her. it felt like your heart was about to jump out of your chest, as she stared into your eyes.

you don't know what came over you, but something inside you told you to kiss her again, so you did.

you leaned in and kissed her again, she was taken aback, shocked that you had just kissed her... again. she kissed you back and pulled you in closer by the belt loops of your pants.

you had never been kissed the way olivia was kissing you right now at this very moment.

you knew you probably shouldn't be kissing her, but it felt so right. it felt like your heart was on fire, the warmth of her hand on you check, the other on your waist. you craved more. you wanted more. your lips moved together in sync, a perfect match.

the two of you finally pulled away when your lungs started to burn. the two of you rested your foreheads on each other.

olivia laughed, "still scared to kiss me?" she whispered.
