"98...99...100! Ready or not here I come!" Shouted a younger version of Lance.
Even tho he wasn't as tall as some of his peers, the six-year-old managed to run rather fast.
Shuffle and mumbling could still be heard despite the warning of Lance. And that's how he found two of his friends in a closet.
"It's not fair!" Complained Marcel, clenching his tiny hands into fists. "You found us because of Hunk!"
The bigger kid shyly looked at the floor, ashamed, "I'm sorry, but I don't like the dark."
"Don't be rude Marcel! The dark's scary!" Lance defended his friend from him who could show himself unconcerned about others' fear sometimes.
Seeing his pained face, Marcel felt a tinge of guilt. So he patted Hunk's back. "I'm sorry Hunk, I didn't mean to be mean..." He sighed, "If you want we can eat the candy I hide in the kitchen?"
Hunk's face immediately lit up and all trace of sadness left. "Yay! Candy!" He cheered.
And with that, the two kids happily went to the kitchen hands in hand while Lance watched them, happy that his two friends reconciled.
He then proceeded to search for the rest of his friends.
Sprinting down the stairs, not caring for all the times his mother or father told him not to, he reached for his older sister's room.
If she were there she would have chased him away, not wanting to be disturbed by her annoying little brother. But Lance knew that if she weren't in her room someone would have taken the opportunity to hide there.
Carefully, he stepped into her room. Even tho his sister was not here he still felt pretty nervous. What if she appeared out of nowhere and yelled at him for making a mess and touching her things?
The little boy shook his head. He shouldn't be scared of his sister. Yes, she was taller and older than him and was always telling spooky stories, but she wasn't a monster! Well, not the kind Lance was truly scared of.
Analyzing the bedroom first, he noticed strands of hair beneath it. He crouched to see what, or more who it was and widened his eyes when he saw who it was. "Rosie! I found you!"
The little girl was lying down on the floor beneath the bed. Her hair was not tied and that's what betrayed her. "Oh no! I thought I would finally win!" She whined as she removed herself from where she was.
Lance felt bad for her. Every time they would play hide and seek she would always lose. "But it's okay Rosalie, I found Marcel and Hunk first you know," he tried to comfort her.
Rosalie puffed her cheeks and pouted, "Yeah but I wanted to win for once... I never do.." she crossed her small arms and sat on the bed.
Her friend looked at her in defeat. At this moment he didn't know what to do. On one hand, he wanted to continue the game, but on the other his best friend was sad and he didn't want her to be. He never liked when his friends were sad, first because it saddened him and because he preferred when they were happy.
