The ticking of the clock hand and the sound of pens tapping on tables served as background noise in Mr. Grayson's math class. The students, impatient to leave the room, were half-listening, too busy daydreaming about their next months of vacation that awaited them.

Now all eyes were on the clock, the small hand of which was advancing every second, bringing at each moment the teenagers closer to their vacation.

Everyone held their breath, seeing that the hour of summertime was more than near. All the little noises like feet patting the ground impatiently or the squeaking of chairs ceased to give way to complete silence.
[ DRING! ]
From the moment the bell rang, cries of joy erupted from all classes at Garrison High School. Sheets, pencil cases, and other school supplies flew, thrown like confetti by the excited and happy teens that the last day of school has finally come to an end. It wasn't long before the hallways got crowded with young people running around and having fun banging on lockers. For seniors, this meant the end of high school and entry to university.
Some were a little sad about leaving high school, others were eager to start a new life. Anyway, we saw all the emotions for the start of the summer vacation.
Picking up her things slowly and not paying attention to the others around her, Rosalie left the room without looking back.
The enthusiasm that the others had for the long vacancy that awaited them was not shared. Summer vacation for her meant boredom.
If for August she always went on vacation all over the place, during July it was quite the opposite. Usually, she would visit her grandparents in Florida, and stay there for two weeks. Then she would return to San Diego for the remainder of July. She wasn't complaining about seeing her grandparents but staying all the rest of July doing nothing, while her friends were already very far away, bothered her more than anything."Hey, Rose!" Someone called out.
That someone was Lance McClain. Captain of the swimming team and incidentally best friend of Rosalie.
The two knew each other since birth, if not even before. Their parents being longtime friends and living in the same town, it was only natural that the two teenagers would become best friends."Lance! Sorry, I didn't see you." A smile took place on the brunette's lips as she went to meet him.
"No big deal. Ain't you with Ryan and the others?"
"No. I was just going to join them. Aren't you with Pidge, Keith, and Hunk?" Rosalie asked back.
They might be best friends, but Rosalie and Lance didn't hang out with the same people. They both had their own group of friends. Lance's was considered as one of the most popular because of its members while Rosalie' wasn't.
"I will join them later, but first you need to know that my mother and your mother told me you're eating with us tonight, since it's the end of the school, blah, blah, blah." He waved his hand in annoyance.
"Noted." Rosalie nodded before frowning as if she has just discovered something. "Wait, why am I always the last one to know?"
The brunette opened his eyes wide before exclaiming :
"Huh? You're joking, right? It's always me! For once it's not, don't switch roles, Rose."
The young girl let a small laugh slip then greets him and leaves to join her other friends.
