~Violet's POV~

I dropped my phone in shock. I felt overwhelmed. Tears formed in my eyes. This couldn't be happening. My parents... they died and my sister was in the hospital... I couldn't believe it. I threw on a coat and sped to the hospital in my car. I rushed through the doors. The nurse led me to the waiting room since my sister was in surgery. My foot bounced up and down as I chewed on my nails. I waited anxiously watching the door as people entered the room and left, waiting for the doctor come in. I waited for hours. Then the doctor finally came in. I practically leaped out of my seat. "She didn't make it... I'm so sorry.", the doctor said as he shook his head. It felt like my whole world came crashing down. I had no one to call even tell. I kept to myself and made no friends let alone get a boyfriend or girlfriend. I only had one family member left and that was my aunt, Ninko. She knew nothing about it. I've changed so much in ten years. I found out a secret my family had kept. Im a witch, but only my parents, little sister, and I knew. It came from my mom's side. My mother taught me everything I know about witches. Witches don't use wands and they don't have a flying broomstick. We also don't have familiars.

~1 week later (Violet's POV)~

"Ms. Syarwarski, how much do you wish to withdraw? Ms. Syarwarski...? Hello? Are you ok, ma'am?", the bank teller said as I spaced out. He put his arm on my shoulder and I jumped, returning back to reality, "sorry... I would like to take out $5,000 please." "Yes ma'am."

~1 month later (Violet's POV)~

"Aunt Ninko?", I called out as I heard a noise in the kitchen. "Oh my god! Hi, my love! It's been what? Ten years since we've seen each other! I've missed you so much! How have you been... since... well you know...", she said giving me a smile. I looked at her, "I've been ok considering." "That's good! Now you should go unpack and head out to meet some new people! Many people knew your parents. Not our next door neighbor, but the one after just moved here around 4 weeks ago. Her dad died before she was born and her mom just died not too long ago. She's sweet and I have a feeling you two would get along.", she said as I nodded and headed to my new room. When I opened the door I smiled. She had left it the same from when I used to come visit her and stay all the time. I sat my stuff down and grabbed a quick shower. I decided to go to the boathouse. I used to go there all the time with my mom when we came to visit Ninko. She was actually best friends with the owner, Ethan Conant. I used to play with his son, Adam, when I came to visit. I've missed this town so much. When I got to the boathouse I hesitantly walked inside. This was obviously my first time back here since my mom passed. I was greeted by a snotty girl with straight, long dark brown hair and hazel green eyes followed by a shorter girl with shorter brown hair and hazel eyes. The shorter one seemed nicer. The taller one smirked and reached out her hand, "hm... you must be the new girl... alright so I'm Faye and this is my friend, Melissa." "I'm Violet.", I said as I grabbed her hand and shook it. I felt a shock and Faye pulled away faster than I could blink. Not knowing what that was, I decided not to mention it. "So... you are coming to my school and I have rules. Rule one you mu-", someone cut her off, "Oh come on Faye. You're going to chase her off already.", a male voice said that sounded so familiar. "Ugh fine... come on, Melissa.", Faye said as the two of them left. I smiled, "Adam!" "Hey, V. It's been so long.", he said as he hugged me. "Yeah... ten years...", I said as I felt a minor shock as I hugged Adam back. By his reaction, I could tell he felt it too. We pulled away and a girl came up. She had long brown hair and seemed super sweet. "You must be Violet!! I'm Diana! It's very nice to meet you!", she said as I nodded. "I'm very sorry to hear about your parents and little sister, V.", Adam said as I smiled. I hesitated before speaking, "me too..." It was complete silence for a minute until someone finally spoke, but it wasn't any of the three of us. "So this is the new girl?", a male voice spoke from behind me causing me to internally jump. His voice sounded calm, sweet and caring, but also mysterious and hot. It sent shivers down my spine. I turned around and made eye contact with him. My heart sank into my stomach. He had light brown hair, tan skin, and blue/green eyes. He is also 5'9 in height. We stared at each other for a minute. My blue eyes staring into his green/blue ones. His expression never changed. He continuously smirked. It was like he was staring into my soul and quietly snickering at me. "Uh... would you look at the time... I uh... it's seems I have to go... bye nice meeting you all...", I said as I tried to get passed the tall man before me. He grabbed my hand and spoke, "my name is Nick. I hope to see you again." I gulped and went to speak, but didn't know what to say, so I just nodded and said, "my name is Violet..." He let go and I practically ran out of there. It was around 10:00 at night. I jumped in my car and drove back home. When I got there Ninko came up to me. "I know it's late, but would you like to eat? I made dinner.", she said as I sighed. "I'm sorry, but I'm really tired from the trip and I have school tomorrow. I promise I will eat some tomorrow though.", I said as she nodded and I headed upstairs. I hurried and got changed. Afterwards I laid on my bed. I stared at the ceiling for about 30 minutes before slowly drifting off to sleep.
