The Unknown Bloodline

Chapter 9

~Nick's POV~

I felt terrible for how I treated Violet. I haven't heard from since yesterday when she rightfully freaked out on me. I was being a complete jerk to her. I decided to go and apologize to her. I got out of bed and grabbed a quick shower. Then I went over to her house. When I got there I knocked on the door and her aunt answered. She gave me a fake smile, "hello Nick." "Is Violet here?", I asked as her expression went from fakely smiling to a sense of worry and shock. "No. I thought she was with you?", she said as I shook my head. "No we had an argument yesterday and I haven't seen her since. Maybe she's at Diana's or Melissa's. I'll give them a call.", I said as she nodded. I called them both and they hadn't seen her. Neither had Faye and Adam. A sense of fear and worry washed over me. I told everyone to meet me at the safehouse. I got there as fast as I could. I got there before everyone else. Within a few minutes they were all there. "We have to find her. I don't care how or what we have to do, but we have to save her. No matter what.", I said as they all nodded. Faye laughed, "careful, Nick. You're starting to make us think you actually care." Before I could say anything Melissa spoke, "Faye! Knock it off! Violet is missing and we need to find her!" "Do you think this has something to do with that demon?", Diana asked as I shrugged. "Violet's aunt did say people would come for her magic....", I said as they all stared at me. "We need to split up and search for her. Cassie and Adam will search around the school and the woods, while Faye, Melissa, and Diana go ask around. I'll go talk to her aunt.", I said as I left before anyone could say anything. When I got to the house her aunt invited me in. "I think someone took Violet.", I simply stated. Her aunt stared at me, "this is all your fault! If you would of treated her right then you guys wouldn't have fought and she wouldn't be missing right now!" She wasn't wrong. If I would have been nicer to Violet she wouldn't have skipped school and she wouldn't have gotten kidnapped. I ran my fingers through my hair trying to think. "Isn't there any way we could find her? I'm willing to try anything.", I said as her aunt laughed. "I don't know of anything. You better find her. I don't care if you die in the process just find my niece.", she said as I nodded. "I promise you I will.", I said as she sighed. "I'll check our family's book.", she said as I left. I went into town and asked everybody if they saw her. Then all of the sudden my phone started buzzing. I was getting a call from Violet. I answered it and an unknown voice spoke, "hello Nick." "Who are you?", I asked as he laughed. "It doesn't matter who I am. Just know that I have Violet and if you want to save her little life you better meet where your parents burned. Don't tell anyone you are coming or I will not hesitate to kill her. I'm watching you, so I will know.", he said. "You son of a bi-", before I could say anything else he hung up. "Ugh!", I said as I punched a nearby wall. I had to save her. I couldn't lose her. I took a deep breath as I headed toward the boat where the accident happened sixteen years ago.

~Violet's POV~

"What are you going to do with him?", I asked as he laughed. "I'm going to kill him of course.", he said as I glared at him. "What?! I thought you wanted the circles magic! Won't they lose it all if you kill one of them?!", I said as he continued to laugh. "I lied. I don't care about the secret circle. I just want your power, but you haven't fully activated yet. I thought killing your parents and little sister would of activated it, but it didn't, so I decided why not try killing your sweet lover boy.", he said amused by my reaction. "You.... it was you... you killed them... but they said it looked like it was an accident...", I said as he smiled. "Magic is quite wonderful, isn't it?", he said as tears filled my eyes. Before i could speak i heard footsteps. "That would be Nick.", he said as he left. Within seconds the door busted open and Nick ran over to me. He quickly untied me. As soon as I was untied he pulled me into a kiss. It was sweet, but I pushed him away. "Nick... what did you do.... he is going to kill you!", I said as Nick looked at me confused. Before I could say anything the unknown man walked back in. Nick and I both stood up. "Nick.... my magic... I can't use it.", I said as he nodded. "Oh isn't this sweet! You two made up! Too bad it's already too late. Even if you both are able to escape she's still poisoned and she will die.", he said as Nick's eyes filled with anger. "Nick, you have to leave. I'm already dead, but you can still be saved... please Nick. I'll hold him off, while you escape.", I said as he shook his head. He grabbed my hands and made me face him. "I love you, Violet. I know I never say it and and I know I don't act like it, but I love you. And I'm so sorry for the way that I've been treating you, but I'm not leaving you. I'm never ever going to leave you.", he said as I smiled. "Awww so sweet! Too bad you'll both be dead!", he said as he closed his eyes and began to chant. Before I could say anything I was thrown against the wall, unable to move. Then he started heading towards Nick with some kind of knife. "Nick!", I yelled as the unknown man went to stab him, but he got thrown causing me to fall. I looked over and it was Ninko. "Aunt Ninko!", I said as she smiled at me and then turned back to look at the man. Nick ran over to me. "You two get out of here. I'll handle him.", my aunt said as Nick nodded and picked me up. He carried me out. He headed towards his house. "Thank you.", I said as he looked down at me and smiled. I was exhausted and my eyes slowly started to shut until I completely fell asleep in Nick's arms.

~Ninko's POV~

I watched as he stared at me, completely terrified. "Ninko... that was your niece? I'm so sorry I didn't kn-", I cut him off. "Cut the crap. What are you doing here, Ayven?", I asked as he sighed. "The boss wants more power. He wants your niece and you know just as well as I the boss always gets what he wants.", he said as I laughed. "Well if he wants my niece then he is going to have to get through me first and thats not going to be very easy.", I said as Ayven smiled. "He won't stop until he gets her. You will just be risking everyone else.", he said as I rolled my eyes. "When he comes the circle and I will be ready.", I said as he shook his head. "Remember the last time the circle tried to go up against him? They all almost died.", he said as I smirked. I bent down next to Ayven's ear and whispered, "these kids are much stronger than the last." "Yeah we-", I cut him off. "I think it's time for you to stop talking.", I said as I closed my eyes. When I opened them Ayven's body was completely disintegrated into dust.
