~Violet's POV~
"Are you sure you have to leave?", I asked as my aunt smiled. "I'll be back soon. I just have a few things I need to take care of.", she said as I nodded. "Well I will see you when you get back then.", I said as she hugged me. "Remember no boys! Especially Nick.", she said as she looked at me. I laughed, "you're the one that told me to talk to him... so I did." She rolled her eyes, "yeah I know... but I've changed my mind. You have to watch yourself around him.", she warned as I nodded. "Ok! You should probably get going! I'll be fine! Don't worry about me.", I said as I hugged her. "Alright... see you soon, Violet.", she said as she left. I just waved as I watched her leave. When her car drove off I went upstairs to my bedroom. I looked out my window and of course you could see right into Nick's bedroom. Go figure he was making out with some girl again. I swear thats all he ever does. I yawned as I laid down on my bed. A couple minutes later my phone went off. It was a text from Adam. He wanted to meet up for a coffee at the boathouse. I got up and got ready. Then I headed to the boathouse. When I got there Faye approached me, but this time Melissa wasn't with her. "Mmm... where's your little pet, Faye?", I asked referring to Melissa. Faye glared at me, "you better watch yourself, new girl. I would hate to have to humiliate you on only your first week back here." I laughed, "you don't scare me Faye." She smiled, "but I wi-" Adam cut her off, "Ok. That's enough you two. Faye back off." Faye looked at me and then walked away. "Sorry about her she's ju-", I cut him off. "It's fine. She's just a bully who's insecure and takes it out on other people to make herself feel better about herself. I'm used to dealing with people like her.", I said as he smiled. We walked over to a booth and sat down. "So what did you want to talk about?", I asked. He sighed, "your parents." I looked at him, "why?" "I'm just curious to see how they've changed since the last time I've seen them ten years ago.", he simply stated. "They didn't really change much. I mean my sister was a little brat, but I loved her. My mother... she was just as sweet as she was when we were here. She always took care of everyone. My dad changed though... after we left he seemed a little paranoid.... and now that I think about it. Before their death he was really paranoid. Him and my mother would argue and they never argued. They mentioned something about not being safe. I don't know though. I could just be going crazy.", I laughed as Adam smiled. "Your mother... she ever talk about your grandma?", Adam asked as I shook my head. "Not really. Ever since my grandma died my mom never really even mentioned her name. I think it was too hard. Why do you want to know so much about my family...?", I said as I stared at him. "I told you I wa-", I cut him off. "No. I don't buy. Just leave my family alone, ok Adam?", I said as he nodded. "I've got to go.", I said as I left. I headed into the woods to clear my head again when I heard screaming. I had no clue who that was. I had to check it out. I headed towards where the scream came from. When I got there Diana, Faye, and Cassie were all laying on the floor and some man was there. They were trapped in a circle with symbols drawn around it. This was obviously some type of witchcraft. I closed my eyes and pictured his lungs collapsing and them filling up with water. Then his airways started to close as he struggled to breathe. His heart slowed down. I could hear Nick's voice in the distance telling me to stop. I continued to concentrate on him as he started to cough up water. His lungs filled with water. After the man died I looked at Nick. "Why would you do that!?!", Diana yelled as she ran over to the dead body. I looked over and Adam and Melissa had to of destroyed the circle because Cassie, Faye, and Diana were freed. "I saved your life! A thank you would be nice!", I argued. "Now we will never know who he is!", Diana said sounding angry. "Oh get over it! You can't save everybody! People die. It happens.", I said as I rolled my eyes. "You guys ok? What happened?", Adam asked as Faye shrugged. Cassie looked at Adam and sighed, "not really sure. We were going to the safe house when we got jumped. I don't understand how he took all three of us down. We're bound. We should of been strong enough to take him." "Wait bound? What do you mean by that?", I asked as they all looked at me. "You don't have a circle...?", Diana asked. I shook my head, "no? I've never even heard of it. My mother never told me anything about circles and being bound. She only taught me control. Nothing more. Then my father never really talked about it." "Well there are circles of six witches. They are all around the world and when we bound our circle we become stronger as a group, but we lose our individual magic.", she explained. "That must suck. I don't know what I'd do if I lost my individual magic. I'd probably go crazy.", I said as Faye nodded. "Ok... so we need to figure out who this man is. And now since you know about us and you're obviously powerful. Would you like to help us?", Adam asked. I looked at them all and sighed, "sure I don't see why not."
